im sorry i sound like a nvc represenative, you are right

do not provide misinformation. scan means they received it and does not mean they will start to review it. it takes 1-2 days for everyones corresponve to be scanned after tracking shows as delivered and the only real purpose is to verify nvc did receive it and to start counting their supposed 30 days to review it. as of now it is 3 weeks from scan to either approval or checklist of that package. as in today we got reports of several, but not all, people whos packages were scanned may 5th got approvals.

I'm hoping for a case complete by June, even if it's the 30th of June. I dont mind an early August interview at this rate. I just want to get to the US by August!

I'll put this in to the benefit of all:

I recently e-maild the USCBP with the following question: "What are the requirements at the Point-of-Entry from a derivative spouse entering after arrival of the principal applicant other than the passport and the still valid immigrant visa there-in? The sealed envelope would have been submitted already upon the principal's entry weeks earlier."

This is the response I received two weeks later: "Thank you for contacting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) INFO Center. You would need your valid passport and copy of the immigrant visa that included you as spouse of the principal when presenting yourself for entry into the U.S."

My reading is the "copy of the immigrant visa" they mentioned refers to a copy of the entire visa packet, not just the machine readable IV stamp.

They just don't quit do they, by the way thank you very much and I wonder if they advise you of this when and if you finally get the Visa? So will we have this as in the Embassy giving the whole packet to us. Spooky eh!

All my friends who had cases completed this May got interview dates in July by calling NVC. Mine was completed on May 21, called NVC just now but still in waiting for the interview date to be scheduled

Talked to WALDO !! He was actually very helpful.

Talking to Supervisor Liam last night was a waste.

Anyway, the mail that is showing up in my file from May23rd is an email response . I sent an email on May1st regarding the birth cert they checklisted me for before they put in a supervisor review on May 2nd. Waldo said when they respond to emails, they barcode them so they end up in the file. It is technically external mail but he was able to see that it was an email. So Arthur can go pound sand for being so nasty yesterday. I am guessing Waldo has been there a while.

I tried asking about the process. Like what happens after a file gets checklisted? Does it stay with the same reviewer or does it go back into the shark pool? He kept saying he couldn't give out that kind of info but I got enough out of him. They get checklisted and then it goes back to the file room to wait for the items to come in. When the checklisted items get reviewed, a reviewer requests the file from the file room and they finish the file. A completely inefficient system if you ask me.

Anyway, I am praying they get to MAY 8th mail sometime this week. Waldo told me the interviews are scheduled as an ongoing process. They aren't just limited to the last week and first week of the month. It depends on each embassy and the dates they provide. It is possible to get scheduled at anytime as long as there are openings.

Not sure if the man you talked to shed any light on what happens if you send additional documents before you receive a checklist?

My case was scanned in on May 15th but I realized yesterday I forgot a Tax Form that other people have been check listed for. So instead of waiting another 1-2 weeks for a potential checklist, I decided to send in the forms. I wrote ALL over the entire file that these are additional forms to be added to my already-scanned-in AOS package.

Hmmm. Wondering what they will do with mine? Will it be scanned in as another AOS package? Or will it sit in the file room you talk about until they review my original AOS? Or maybe it will be added to the queue as a totally new AOS even though it only contains additional documents...

I might have to call next week when it should be scanned in and try and speak to a supervisor about it. Because it won't have a checklist cover page on it, only my original AOS barcoded cover sheet. I am not sure if anyone has any insight of others in this situation?

Awwww thank you so much and OMG it must have been the changes they made it lost your DS-261 what a mess they have made of it all. But you will see it will be fixed and two weeks isn't bad at all. It could be a lot worse.

You're right. It could be a lot worse. I'm just feeling so edgy, waiting and waiting. It's almost worse than uscis, because back then, we knew it would take forever, so anything less than that was a gift! Now, when it should be an "any day now " proposition and it's taking weeks and weeks it somehow seems more punishing!

Hello everyone,

I'm sending IV packet pretty soon and working on the cover letter. Is it ok to sign at the bottom of the letter as Petitioner and provide my contact info. Or do I have to provide my husband's contact info, who's the beneficiary. Since he sent all of the original documents to me, I will be sending them to the NVC..just wanted to know what would be best....any ideas or suggestions? thanks!!

The contact information is provided VIA the DS-261-- a cover page that you customize can be used to give any explanations that you feel may be necessary-- all the documents are about the beneficiary-- and their relationsip to you-

providing contact information there would not be necessary-they would already have that on file from your choice of agent (ds261)

That is up to you but I wouldnt call at all for the first 2 to 3 weeks maybe twice the third week and then maybe every other day going into the fourth week and then every day - until you get information-- they are running 3 plus weeks so the first few weeks would just be for your own satisfaction. again this advice varies much on different opinions..
