wow this is strange. Are you sure your documents were "scanned" on May 5th . When were they delivered to NVC according to your tracking was it may 2nd?

what did the checklist request maybe it is something complex. regardless you oughta call tomorrow! I mean so close to victory can't give up now! just call and put on loudspeaker while you do some activity and it should at least make it less stressful

It could be that way. I've called MANY times and they always said they received a package on May 2. But they may have scanned later. I always sent things 1 day priority USPS.

congratulations!! your timeline says you sent the IV docs on may 1st and that NVC received and scanned them on may 2nd (i dont think anyone has had same day delivery scanning so far). I feel that is probably wrong and they were scanned on May 5th as NVC tends to take 2 days to scan unless its weekend in which case if they receive on a friday they scan the next monday. Therefore it leads me to believe it is following pattern of documents scanned may 5th being processed today.

02/25/14 I-130 Approved

Thank you. I will say a special prayer for everyone tonight. I really do hope that you can celebrate with your spouse this week. This is an awful system, and it needs fixing in a bad way.

By the way I was excited yesterday after they picked up also on 2nd try but then waited for 46 minutes...... It's annoying too because I'd prefer no sound for the on hold message since you got to put attention to hear the person who picks up and cant do anything while calling. lol how many times have you people confused the "all operators are..." with a real person picking up only to realize its machine. it gets me everytime after being on hold past the 20 min mark.

lol, I seem to eventually filter it all out while sitting here with my headset on using Google voice, and nearly forget what's going on by the time they answer, so it's a bit of a shock when I have to state my case number :wacko::lol:

It's easy to distract myself going through the VJ forums or playing Civilization V :D

Hello everyone, I've already submitted AOS packet and now waiting for IV bill to be invoiced so I can make a payment..I've been checking on it regularly but no sign of any update, therefore I don't have the Bar coded cover sheet yet. My IV packet is ready to be sent out but since I cannot make a payment yet and don't have a bar coded cover sheet, I can't do much.

Any idea if we must use the Bar coded cover sheet generated after making IV payments or can we use the one we received after AOS payment? Any one has done it before like that?

I know many of us have sent in our package after paying and not waiting for the status to show as "PAID", but I don't recall anyone saying they have sent their package prior to even paying. I wouldn't recommend it. The packages go to different departments for review, so I suggest waiting for the chance to pay and get the proper cover sheet.

You wouldn't want your package to be 'lost' in the system if it arrives prior to being invoiced.

Thank God for his faithfulness and His love. We thank Him that He has put people like Saylin and all the helpful people at VJ in our path to help us. We made it all the way through with no RFE, no checklist to Case Complete tonight. Amanda, one of my favorites at NVC gave me the good news just now. I hope there are plenty more tonight!

I have checked skyscanner and it was helpful but there are only 2 airlines that do direct flights to Portugal daily in NJ (I live in an area with many Portuguese communities) and I don't do well with layovers. So that limits my choices and prices.

Think I'll start swimming. We literally just have the Atlantic Ocean separating the 2 countries. I just need to swim across.

Are you near Red Bank? I remember when I lived in New York, my friend and I would drive into Jersey all the time to hit up the Portuguese restaurants!

Aaaaand I find it sad that I knew which Agent you were talking to based on one sentence you typed lol

Thats true!! Also I sent my AOS packet ATTN: CMR AOS department...now I am not sure if I sent that to a wrong department. I just checked where I am suppose to send IV packet, on travel state website, it says ATTN:DR...and I noticed Saylin's cover letter format, it says CMR...what's the difference between the two and where exactly are we suppose to sent the documents?

Any idea? Anyone?
