Also I want to ask if how long do you wait before calling NVC to check if they received the AOS packet.

Oh wow. I've just talked to Jack (sweet man!) at NVC, and our case just got VERY complicated. It's been reviewed, and we are going to get a checklist for what looks like TWO police certificates.

Now...my partner is from the State of Queensland. If you are from Queensland, you apply for your PCC through the Queensland Police Department. They check the Federal Police Database and then send the report directly to the Sydney Consulate.

BUT...she lived in the State of Victoria for about 20 years. In the State of Victoria, you apply for a Police Report and it is sent directly to you.

What Jack seems to say (but he wasn't sure) was that we were going to get a checklist for TWO police certificates. ONE of them has to be sent to the NVC and ONE of them is sent directly to the Consulate. This is going to delay our case by up to 3-4 weeks, which just burns me. Victoria checks the same Federal Database that Queensland does!!!!

Think I am going to write my attorney for help on this one! Of course, now we have to wait for the official checklist. But Jack seemed to think that the Victoria Police Report is going to have to reach NVC before they even contact Sydney.

Why does it have to be so complicated?????

Hey guys, DS-261 is approved and i payed AOS fees, but AOS fees is still processing. I also have the ability to pay IV fees. Should i go head and pay that as well? or should wait for AOS fees to get approved. AOS package to get approved and all that?

Pay the IV fees immediately. Then as soon as the money is withdrawn from your account, mail them the IV package - USPS Express. Also complete the DS-260 as soon as it becomes available. DS-260 will take a little while to complete. It is several pages long.

There are some incompetents people at NVC.

So today was exactly a month that NVC received my file, I called this morning and received the case number but not the IIN. I decided to call again this afternoon and talk to a rep, after asking the name and DOB of my wife he told me that the name does not much their record and that I need to send an email with passport attach for correction.

Right after I hanged up, I called again and same thing happen, the rep gave literally see it was an error while THEY MANUALLY enter information in the system and someone had messed up.

I'm truly angry at them but went ahead and send the email with supporting docs so they can correct.

God only knows when they will even open my email and make the correction.

Did this happen to anyone?

So p***ed with NVC right now. I've just received a checklist for two police certificates - one UK and one Australian. And now they have introduced a fingerprint certificate for Australia which cost $170. I sent the UK police certificate with my IV package and a statement from the Australian Consulate website saying that the Australian Certificate has been applied for and will be sent direct to the Consulate upon interview. So they know this, so why the checklist? I have never seen or heard of instructions that I have to get a fingerprint certificate - has anyone else?? I'm going to call to see if I can get a case complete and then take the fingerprints with me when I go for my interview. I am so fed up with this process. ARGHHHHHHH!!

I am also Australian and had too the Livescan fingerprints for my Aussie police certificate. If you look on the reciprocity table I think it says that for a US Visa we have to have the Livescan fingerprints. I hear your frustration particularly as it costs $173 or thereabouts to get them. Perhaps you can get a case complete and then reapply forthr certificate and get it sent to the Consulate. I have heard they can do. Case complete and get certificates sent to consulate. Iam going to need Singapore and Hong Kong and am really worried because those countries won't do them until they gets checklist. I don't think we get a checklist until after we submit the IV documents. Is that correct? It will add another few weeks possibly to the process. Would love to hear from you. Where in Australia are you?

Guys I know I'm not at this stage yet, but when sending IV & AOS package, I was thinking of sendind them with the irish postal service, An post. It will cost me €30.77 to send it courier with them and transit times would be 1-5 working days, to send it courier with fedex it would cost €90 (Ridiculous!)

Do you think I should trust my postal service or suck it up and go with fedex?

You're lucky ur iv fee shows paid already.. Mine still in process, paid on apr 24th but till now still in process. Called several times they said have to wait till next week coz they're having some priblung in the site.

As for the AOS they said they got mine on the 29th but didn't review yet..

How was your passport application? I hope ur getting it pretty soon..

We got two checklists on April 30th for AOS and support documents:

1. One for the PDF attachment (petitioners' job letter PDF was password protected).

2. I-864 - item 6 (13.a.1) - petitioner used 'Adjusted Gross income'. We were asked to resend I864 all nine pages with correction and change this to: Total Gross Income (line 22 of Petitioners'1040).

We emailed response to checklist same day.

Called NVC this evening and talked to Mel. He asked us to wait for 20 working days.

We have no choice but to wait. If there were no checklist then we'd have got the case completed by now.

I had to post my parent's medical experience written by my very witty mother- they had a heck of a time in London but its too funny the way that it is written not to share

Got the 6.20 flight from Aldergrove which was to get into Gatwick at 7.30 but as we reached Gatwick to land ,the plane was up and down like a dogs hind leg trying to land in very dense fog so he announced he was going to Luton instead. We sat on the runway for over an hour waiting for security clearance to leave the plane then the bus ticket we had for London was no good because it was from Gatwick not Luton so eventually we got another one and got into the centre of London around 12.00.

We had planed to meet Tod for lunch but he was held up on the bus from his place so we told him to meet us after the medical and we went to China town for a well earned bit to eat.

The clinic was easy enough to find and they took us promptly chest X ray first then in to see another Doctor for the main medical weight, height, eye test, blood, ears, mouth, boobies, and a check to confirm your female or male in Dads case really lovely guy he was we had a great chat. Oh and a blood test also.

It was a bad day to travel through London traffic was bad with the tubes off and getting back to the airport took some time but it's done now so the final bit is getting closer.

I love the 'dog's hind leg' analogy!

We called NVC today and they confirmed that our case got COMPLETED today . Yaay ,and they asked us to wait for the interview date email .

Anybody knows how long it would take for that email to come through?

Hi, I would send it with Fedex, since I'm sure that they are always reliable (and usually on time), and these are very important Docs.

I sent our initial i-130 with our postal service (registered, 3-7 business days) it arrived with no problems. I'm just wondering would me sending it with the quickest time make a difference on how soon we could get our stuff looked at? or will the wait times be the same?

Hello! I have a short question. I am waiting for my DS261 to become available (I can't log in to the site yet, it gives me the typical msg "....case is not eligible for further processing...").

Could it become available during the weekend, or it only changes on business days?

Maybe I shouldn't try to log in again until Monday

On hold with NVC, to check the status on my case. I wonder who I will get to speak to. Hopefully someone nice. Been on hold for 15 minutes now. It would be nice to hear Case Complete but I have my doubts.
