I was just reviewing some information on this page here

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/support/i-864-frequently-asked-questions.html

I noticed that it says all AoS forms should be filled out in CAPITAL letters. Does anyone know how important this is? Has anyone filled it out without having it in all caps and still got approved?

No issue here either, wasn't all in Caps.

I'm not sure you worded this correctly, as you're saying the DS260 is available prior to your IV fees being paid? Perhaps you meant to say the DS260 'is not' available?

It won't be available until your IV fees are paid/accepted as 'paid' online.

Finally submitted IV supporting documents as well as completed the DS-260 form today. Yay! My husband and I are praying for no checklist and hopefully case complete soon. :)

Good luck! :goofy:

I would like to add that the officer in charge there was a real gentleman and very proficient in his duties.

Wish they would send him to the Cairo Embassy. :(

Since all we can do is speculate, I would guess that since the DS261 was already submitted, that you haven't caused any trouble. I think the take-away advice on this is that people should just fill it out once and then leave it alone :luv:

It looks like they're still asking for addresses from age 16. Which is crazy, I know. Fortunately, I was able to get a personal credit report that listed almost all of my old addresses (I'm 43 this year, so I was looking for addresses from almost 30 years ago) - and it gave me a reference as to the dates as well. I'm fudging the dates as little as possible, but I moved around a LOT so it was about 16 distinct addresses, not including when I worked for theatre companies and was living in hotels and "cast houses" and with billets while on tour (generally, at the times that I remembered having given up my apartment to go on tour, I put down my parents' address, since that's where my mail would have gone at that time).

To be honest, now that I've done all the detective work, I'll be pretty grouchy if they don't ask for all the addresses since 16!

They still do and you need to get resourceful to stich a complete picture together. You could use credit reports as nightingalejules suggested or addresses listed in old school/college transcripts; some old application copies or rental/house bills/deeds ...etc. I even used Google Maps to find two old addresses, one in Colorado and another in Kuwait.

I think these addresses are needed to cross check with PCC requirements. Better be precise for US addresses. In Kuwait, for example, the exact address is not critical as the PCC is issued from a central agency, which anchors it to a unique ID number that is patched to the minutest of your life movements since birth or first entry to the country, like the plague.

Wow! That's pretty ridiculous! I hope they aren't so picky about it. :/

Yes, but I do think it's a little odd that they only care about the education of men! Oh, well, since when did any of this make logical sense?

There's (apparently) 4 criteria, only one of which deals with the sex. Females can still be asked that question, if they "qualify" based on the other 3 criteria. I was. I fell into the third criteria: not employed.

Saylin I have a qs. Have u seen anyone on VJ getting denied at the interview because of educational differences? One of my friend has interview next month and she is a lawyer. But her husband does not have any degree. Although he is employed and making good money. They had an arranged marriage and plans to work in states as well. She was quite worried and was asking me what I thnk about it. I consoled her but I was thinking what might happen. Have u seen cases like that?

I haven't heard anything about that, but I don't follow every single and last person's interview outcome.

Personally, I would say no, that's not a problem. But if they're interviewing in a MENA country, then anything is possible.

Immediately after you make payments, DS260 needs to be filed online (your spouse should file, but you can help/fill in on her/his behalf). After you file DS260, NVC package should be sent to them with original certificates. After that it takes 30 business days to know the next step. You should review the process steps saylin put together at : http://www.visajourney.com/forums/user/90397-saylin/ . Good luck.

yeah, it's confusing. I am not going to submit it again. I will call tomorrow and confirm that they have it and if they do i am not submitting it again, just in case it delays my iv fee (enough though i was told by nvc representative that it doesn't, but again, everyone rep tells me something different)
