OUCH, not fun having to pay those loans off for sure and difference is your paying them off. There are so many people that never do and have

the means to pay it off. :D So your an exception. (F)(L)(F)

I'm also paying more than what I need to as well, so even a bigger exception! My husband got student loans like 4 years before I did and I'm guessing I'll have all mine paid off before he even gets close as he's just paying the minimum amount

I agree with Tico she knows what she's saying. I called they gave me my CN the women hesitated I was being really sweet to her hahahaa and she said like she was thinking it, would you like your IIN number. Well helllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooo, yes! Hahaaaa call they will give it to you and by the way she said mine had just been entered and they had both numbers for me. ;)(F)(L)(F)

I guess she just doesn't want to give us the iin. I'll call again on tuesday and hopeful I'll speak with someone different who's is willingly to give out the iin.

It's really sad but there are Dr's that will not pay off their student loans and they have the means to do it. My nephew is a lawyer but has no student loans thanks to my brother who is an angel .:)

Since you just received instructions to do it, I suggest you go ahead and resubmit it! it is only a matter of one day or two, you don't want it to drag longer than that!

Also, there is no credible information as far as that causing delays, so far we only have conflicting opinions!

My 2 cents: go ahead and resubmit!!!!!!!!

Thank you :)

I called nvc yesterday and cs rep told me she couldn't see my ds261 and I told her that I had already completed ds261 before nvc even emailed me with instructions. then she was like "you may have to re-do it once we send u the instructions" then she put me on hold for couple of mins and came back and said "she could see the form at her end"...and now this morning i got "incomplete" message...what a mess...When I clicked on incomplete, it had all of the info I had entered.

So you are suggesting I should go ahead and hit resubmit it? Just makes me nervous that it might cause delays. :(

I did almost the same thing myself. I filed DS261 before getting the instructions to do it and it showed complete.

When I got the email to fill out DS261 and pay AoS fees, the status of my already filled out DS261 did not change. It stayed "Complete" so I did not have to re-do it.

Since yours changed status, I'm guessing (keyword: guessing) the system kicked it out and you need to re-submit it.

When did you fill it out originaly?

That is exactly what CS rep told me. She said "as you filed it out before you received instructions from nvc, you may have to resubmit it". This whole thing is so confusing..m just going to go ahead and re-submit it. I fled the first one on May 22 and got instructions yesterday.

A checklist was being generated for a Greek police certificate even though I had a letter in my IV husband's package explaining why it was unobtainable. When I called Shelley was very rude to me, talking over me in an authoritative way on a subject that I wasn't even asking about. Very insensitive, and she didn't try to help at all. I've gotten people who aren't willing to help me before, but never like this. By the end of the phone call I was crying and had to hang up.

So I called back and spoke to Lisa, who answered the same questions for me. After I asked about the checklist, I explained what happened with Shelley and she told me "you should never let anyone make you cry on the phone, you should have asked for a supervisor right then." So I asked if it would still be possible to speak with a supervisor, and she told me of course, that she would try to find one, but there's not always a supervisor around. (????) She found one, and when I got her on the phone she said "I'm very sorry that happened to you ma'am, that is certainly not the behavior we expect from our customer service representives." She wanted me to write a formal complaint via email. Then she initiated a supervisor review for the Greek police certificate thing -- I think she's going to personally review it as soon as she can pull my file. She made sure I was going to write the email complaint and apologized to me again. I probably talked to her for 20 minutes about my case.

I'm sorry if this sounds dramatic or over the top... I can't even explain how upset I was, and I'm not the type to have an emotional reaction over someone being rude.

I'm glad you got the appropriate customer service after all! What is the email the supervisor gave you to file a formal written complaint?

Ok resubmited and not it shows "completed". I am pretty sure instructions email we received last night reversed our already completed DS261. Although, what surprised me the most was that when i clicked on "incomplete" all of the prior submitted info was already there. So all I have to do was to click next couple of time and then submit! Hope I didn't mess it up by resubmitting it...ugh..

Just did a quick search on the Beneficiary ID #. It seems (or at least used) to be different from Case # and unique for each travelling companion (where there are derivative beneficiaries). I've even come across someone claiming BIN field was auto populated when he filled his form!

In any case, BINs are provided over the phone and in the IV Invoice, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes they are given if you ask (in some cases even if you don't) but I personally never used it for anything. Not on the DS-261, DS-260 or any forms or documents. On the DS-260 I put my Case # and it was accepted. The BIN is no longer needed.

Smart girl! I've been to the abyss of high-interest debt and back. There really is nothing like living debt free, especially when you eventually see how fast those would-be interest payments-turned-savings grow in your retirement accounts. Keep at it with those student loans, and once you're done with them, don't stop there.

what does N/A means in the immigrant visa summary information under affidavit of support documents and civil document of petitioner and beneficiary, respectively? thanks in advance..

:dancing:

Since the changes to the website are so new, we can only speculate on exactly what will show there in the future, and time will tell. Hopefully it will indicate the receipt of or acceptance of those packages, but for now says N/A.

I finally got a case number late last night before nvc closed. My husband called nvc and he was given the case number, he was told the case number was available few hours ago, he was told the IIN was not available yet. Atleast am a bit relief and its more like a birthday gift to my husband because his birthday is today. We'll just call back on tuesday to request for the IIN.

Soloenta your cristal ball is damn so right. I guess I'll need more predictions from your cristal ball. Lol.
