I had a checklist for 2 parts. On my joint, sponsor's I-864, it was:

1. In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

[x] Items 13.a.1. The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal income tax return. If you filed Form 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income instead.

I know it was covered like a million times here, but since it's all being done by a lawyer in the US, I dont have any control over what they fill out. Besides, they probably think I'm an idiot anyway!

2. You must submit the following financial evidence:

[x] ___2013____________________________ IRS tax schedules.

[x] _______2013________________________ Federal income tax returns, IRS printout, or Letter 1722 issued by the IRS.

I'm positive my husband handed them copies of all his 2013 tax stuff, so I really dont know what's happening :( My husband will be calling the lawyer in the morning and possibly be going over to see them. I just hate the fact that because of this we're gonna be delayed another month! I hope they don't take 30 days to review corrected documents as well...

#######! That really sucks. :ranting: :ranting: What is the deal with all these so called lawyers? I hope your husband gets the case moving again asap.

I called NVC last night and I was told that although my AOS email was opened on May 7, they don't have my AOS. I don't understand. They say they don't have it, yet they opened the email on May 7th. I was told to resend my AOS. I remember the email saying it could take up to 20 business days to scan the documents into the file. But it only took 1 day to scan my DS-260 supporting documents. I'm very confused. Can anyone help?

I am anxiously waiting for news from NVC regarding my AOS and IV packages.

In case they come up with a checklist on Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate, can I consult a lawyer to respond to the checklist? I have submitted to NVC the originals for both the document and will be completely at lost if they ask me provided validity on either of these documents. Going back to the issuer of these documents is major hassle.

Wanted to see if anyone has hired a lawyer to help with these unreasonable checklists?

Thanks for any advice/suggestion.

do you think the hassle involved in getting a new document is worth paying a lawyer to do it for you? A lawyer won't be able to do anything with a checklist differently than you, nor will they care to be as expedient about following through on it as you will.

Personally, I'd say involving a lawyer is more trouble than managing this potential problem, which may never happen! ;) .

wow!!! after being on hold for 20 mins I accidentally hung up on NVC DAMN!!!!!!! :ranting:

hm that is interesting. how did you know the supervisor review took 2 days each? i agree, i'm going to try to get another certified copy of the certificate. best of luck

mine was within 3 working days.

Case Complete :dancing::dancing:

I Can't believe I did it without any checklist.

It was very Stressful and Up-down journey...

Without all of you guys, it's not possible to stay strong.

Thanks All. (F)

Congrats Deep!!!!!! :goofy::goofy::goofy:

will it cause any issue if my supervisor review resolves my checklist, but i had another package received at NVC and pending review?

The rep I spoke to... hopefully knew what she was talking about, and stated that if my case was completed prior to the new document's arrival, that they would just add the new document to the file, but not cause any delay.

i got a nice lady on the phone, she's not sure why my original marriage certificate wasn't approved after i gave her some info about it. supervisor review initiated... :clock:

Oh, I thought you already had one started... didn't you say that?:wacko:

It seems that they auto-expedite cases that are filed from overseas (where both of the married couple live abroad together). If the case gets sent to CSC, people have been getting approved in a matter of weeks. It seems that they are doing this to make up for the fact that we can no longer do DCF at our local embassy.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/

BTW, quick question. Are W2s required for AoS if you are sending tax return transcripts or are they only required if you are sending the actual 1040 and the other stuff?

Not required if sending the transcripts, unless for example you're talking about a joint sponsor and their spouse who file jointly, in which case a W2 should be sent along with transcripts ;)

the operator I had today said that you get an email (case complete or the checklist) when they are done with a supervisor review... is that true in your case?

I know you're talking to Lovemytico, but just to say in my case I haven't yet received the case complete email, as it apparently takes about a week. Not sure what happens if they decide to checklist you again.

Why do you think they will question the authenticity of either marriage or birth certificate? If you are submitting original certificate you used to make copies for USCIS and if USCIS accepted it, why would NVC question that? It does not make sense. I think you should not be concerned.

Thanks. Let's hope so.

Awesome! Congrats to you guys!!

After that USCIS scare you experienced, so glad you finally got your CC! Congrats Deep!! :dancing: :joy:

You know, Changnoi and his family are the first people I thought of when I read the news this morning. I hope it's not that bad and we soon hear from him. My prayers are also for them.

I know, I hope it's like Egypt where it's only in certain places not general mayhem thus if you avoid where it's happening your good. Hope they didn't close the Embassy like they did every time they could in Egypt. They really only needed to close it twice. :) I'm sure they are fine but it's best to cover all bases. (F)(L)(F)

did you say that your i-130 was approved in 22 days?? what did you do?? why wasn't i so luck like that?? i was literally a month away from completing a year since i started this process when my i-130 got approved!!!

Same here but we know why it takes so long for us and then months for an interview then AP, it's deafeningly obvious!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO we can't do DCF in Egypt and I put my I-130 in March 2013 we had no breaks and I doubt that is the case. It's not your fault just be very happy you didn't have to wait so long. I also lived with my husband for two years but had to come back home. They Egyptian Embassy refused to expedite my case even though I had a good reason with Dr's letters.

I'd try calling again and talking to someone else

and I gotta say I like your signature statements

do you think the hassle involved in getting a new document is worth paying a lawyer to do it for you? A lawyer won't be able to do anything with a checklist differently than you, nor will they care to be as expedient about following through on it as you will.

Personally, I'd say involving a lawyer is more trouble than managing this potential problem, which may never happen! ;) .

<<In my case, I have sent the originals and do not know how to get another set of documents. I was hoping maybe a lawyer can guide me through other support documents that be submitted to strengthen my claim. Thanks.>>

OMG that really sucks! We can all appreciate how you must have felt... :dead::bonk::blink::blush::hehe::(:D

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! :energy:

and Happy Birthday :D:D:D

Hi, I have a question please, for the photo to be submitted on the IV packet.

What is the format of the beneficiary's full name? Should it be surname first? Does it need to be in block letters?

What is the format for putting in the birthday too?

I'm sorry if I'm asking very trivial questions and thank you so much in advanced. :)

I am the beneficiary.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to derail this thread with the 22 days thing. The only reason I posted it was because it was relevant to my question about providing extra proof of marriage to NVC. I thought this was common knowledge now but I guess many people were still not aware.

I think those of you who filed in 2013 just got really unlucky since things were really backed up around that time. The government shutdown at the end of last year also surely delayed things a bit.

Anyway, I certainly wasn’t trying to brag. I can understand your frustration and I certainly am very grateful that I do not need to wait much longer since I need to leave Japan by the end of October since I will not re-contract on my job here which ends on July 31st.

I honestly hope things go smoothly for all of your from here on out. Sorry to be one of “those guys”.
