I didn't think about it when I sent the new Birth Cert. I just didn't want to waste time if they decided it wasn't good enough. Turns out it is a good thing I sent it. They reviewed it 3 times and they won't accept it. And it is the original. I didn't want to play games. Every minute counts

So what did you do was there another kind of BC? I know I've read there is a short and long version but not sure if this is country specific.

hi lakehouse. Yes i meant nvc. and yes i already sent my iv packet. i am beneficiary. i do not know about my case. i wrote on my timeline as my husband told me. He told me all paper are done with nvc and now wating for case complete mail. Sorry for weak english. Thanks for reply.

I did get a checklist, see signature... it came the next day I think.

You know... I'm afraid (because of you), DOS will add the following question to the DS-260 form:

"Have you ever associated yourself with a character from the movie Boogie Nights?"

I have applied to many US visas in my time and the list of dooms-day questions there have grown "ridiculously large" already.

Topic - EP or mailing for NVC. Which is the better option?

Hello, So i got approved with NOA2 on may 14 from NSC and I am practically ready with the AOS and IV packages already. All thanks to information i have gotten here and from Saylin's wiki page. Thanks a lot.

I am filing from Canada so I have both EP or regular mailing system for processing. I wanted to know people in NVC stage, who are submitting their AOS and IV packages, is EP better or worse than mailing documents to NVC? As per saylin's wiki page, once you submit for EP (with the email) you should submit your AOS and IV packet only after you receive confirmation from them. If that is still true, then can any of you who did enroll for EP tell me how much time it takes for them to send the confirmation? Also, is it quicker or the same. I saw the timelines on NVC spreadsheet for the past couple of months, and it didn't make much of a difference in time. Would most people say its true or my estimate is incorrect? Thank you.

my checklist was emailed like 12 hours after I found out about it over the phone. I sent a revised AOS 2 days after the lawyer sent the incorrect AOS and I used the original bar code page. Just write a cover letter and mail it off. If they are going to play games then you can just mail it off and get it received so you don't have to waste time. At least that is what I would do

I found out about the fact that I was going to get a checklist on a Friday, and I didn't get the actual document until the next WEDNESDAY! So inefficient.

You know, Changnoi and his family are the first people I thought of when I read the news this morning. I hope it's not that bad and we soon hear from him. My prayers are also for them.

14 days since DS-261 completed still IV Fee NOT INVOICED. Called NVC last night, the rep said DS-261 accepted but wait for another 2 weeks . Also, they tell me that my AOS Package has scanned into the system on May 20

Here is a thought... The package I sent in with my I-130 to USCIS, that package was sent to the NVC correct?

and then the NVC sends your packet to the EMBASSY for interview.

Do you get ALL your documents back INCLUDING what you sent in to the USCIS?

Does Anyone in this forum know from past experience how that goes?

Yes, USCIS sends what they have to NVC. NVC then takes that along with everything you send to them and sends it off to the embassy/consulate.

The only things you'll get back after being approved at the interview is your original/certified copies of your civil documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc). They keep everything else.

Come on down Saylin! I have an extra bedroom and a pool. Was in the pool today. I'm in Cape Coral. 25 min from Ft Myers beach or Sanibel Island. The weathers perfect right now. Bit hurricane season is about to start up. At least this year my hubby will be here to help me hang the shutters if need be. 2 yrs ago I hung them myself. What a pain!

I used to live in Naples, which is close to Ft Myers!! Gah, you're so lucky! I would looooooooove to live in Florida again! Even with hurricanes. I survived Hurricane Rita in 2005, I can survive anything We had to put up shutters too, but I didn't have to help Anyways, I'm actually planning a trip to Disney/Universal this September and can't wait! Haven't been back to Florida since 2009 (longest time in my entire life) and miss it horribly! I forget what palm trees look like!

Yes I am, you have to middle load in China so I am. There are stories about that certain interview window you go there to get a rejection. I think they make up their minds before the interview. Every time I hear JVers talk about Joy on the NVC phone it sounds like the lady they describe in China that hands out the rejection slips. So I want the consulate to feel at ease about our files.

For those of you who are sending additional evidence of genuine marriage and photos to NVC to “middle load” do you think it is necessary for someone whose wife is Japanese and do you think it is even worth doing considering my I-130 only took 22 days? I mean, the evidence submitted with the I-130 package is all at NVC right now as well right? I can’t really submit anything much newer than what I already submitted since it has only been like a month since I sent the previous evidence. Do you think I should just not bother with that stuff?

Dunno about LoveMyTico but my documents were reviewed on May 20th and I found out about a checklist over the phone on May 21 and got the email May 22.
