Why do you think they will question the authenticity of either marriage or birth certificate? If you are submitting original certificate you used to make copies for USCIS and if USCIS accepted it, why would NVC question that? It does not make sense. I think you should not be concerned.

Good. That means I have a case # as of today as well. I'll wait till tomorrow, however. It's 10:30 pm now and I'm too tired to hunt for a tone then spend another 40 minutes on hold.

NVCInquiry has a 3-week processing delay currently. Call and check (and hope) if it's a different email address you need to use. Good Luck.

Turns out it is NVCInquiry. I called and waited on hold again to make sure. The guy said said there would be no negative effect if we start making payments and sending the forms and whatnot without them getting the e-mails first.

That is quite strange, they are there just to collect all of the paperwork per my understanding. Questioning marriage certificate at NVC stage makes no sense to me if uscis already approved it. Try calling NVC again and speak with the supervisor?

i didn't. they don't ask for it.

btw: i'm not surprise that this process gets longer and longer, people send bunch of unnecessary things and nvc has to go through them.

my checklist was emailed like 12 hours after I found out about it over the phone. I sent a revised AOS 2 days after the lawyer sent the incorrect AOS and I used the original bar code page. Just write a cover letter and mail it off. If they are going to play games then you can just mail it off and get it received so you don't have to waste time. At least that is what I would do

I just spoke to Kevin (super duper nice) told me exactly what I messed up on line 13a on I-864 and 11 on I-864A.. But everything else was good.. He told me the same thing as you that I don't have to wait for the checklist email and to go ahead and send the revised AOS with original cover sheet.. Thx again for your help!!

Wow Soloenta your right on the money!!!! I got my case number assigned today but can't add my emails until tomorrow but the operator (Robert) was super nice and said if I wanted I could just give him my emails and he would add it first thing tomorrow when he arrives at the office! I'm soooo excited!!! Things should get rolling quick now

1. letter explaining that what I sent WAS the original and signed/stamped by the issuing authority

2. certified copy of marriage certificate

3. some statement from an authority at the registrar saying this is the certified copy of the marriage certificate and the only document that the issuing authority will provide

man this is a load of BS

I was thinking about this earlier today, I wonder if this is another way they 'control the workflow'? I'm sure I'm just being paranoid but some of these checklists make you wonder if they have toddlers with crayons looking at these documents!

I was thinking about this earlier and having PTSD flashbacks to the bogus RFEs at USCIS. There's something called Hanlon's Razor which states "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"... but I still wonder.

Did you try calling them and having the supervisor review it?
