Just curious because this happened to Lucybelle too. She got 3 checklists. 2 were for the marriage certificate.

Do they have the certificate and just won't accept it or is it missing from the file? If its there, ask for a supervisor review because it is the ORIGINAL.. maybe a derp was reviewing your file and just wasn't familiar with what it should look like.

not sure yet. i called yesterday and found out that "they didn't receive an original marriage certificate". waiting on the checklist to see what these guys want...

I think you are really close !! no mail delivery for May 3&4.. I bet you get CC today or tomorrow.... Then its my turn !

I know girl...I'm going to call them tomorrow though.

And yes, I have been calling them every other day and I realize nothing will change by doing that and that I will get an email when my Case is Complete, etc etc. But I need closure darn it! I need to know that this stage is ending and we are moving on to the next one. So don't judge me people.

Hey guys,

So I already informed Saylin about an update to the NVC site, but just a heads up to everyone: The DS-260 confirmation page is now mandatory to bring to the interview.

On the NVC website, it states, "After submitting the Form DS-260 online, print the confirmation page. You must bring the confirmation page to your visa interview."

More information can be found here as well as an example of the 260 itself: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit.html

For EP applicants, apparently, "If you provided the NVC with scanned copies that you submitted via email, you will be required to present the original documents at your interview, along with a photocopy of each document." I didn't know if people were already aware of this information or not, but that is found here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare.html

^ If that's the case ... what's the point of EP if you have to provide original documents anyway? Doesn't that defeat the purpose or am I misinterpreting the information?

Thank you for the info. We're still waiting for our case complete. Just sent in revised AOS for checklist, but hope to be done soon! I have an "interview" file with all needed docs to bring to interview, so just put the DS-260 confirmation in it. Now we won't forget it when we finally get to the interview stage! thanks again

Congrats! Glad to see you got your confirmation :)

Thank you CanGirl you have been very supportive for us.

I called NVC (40 min on hold) and they dont know anything about EP as its a different department. So I think I have to wait now for the stepsons Enroll Confirmation also. I'm almost ready to email everything, But I have something I am still unsure of. I hope some one here can help with this as I have spent hours looking online, on VJ and the department of states wed site and I just get more confused.

On the I-864 It allows you to also name the children In my case I have the wife and stepson. He will be traveling with his mom so It looks like I have to list him there. He is 17 years old. But he has to have his own Visa. Reading the Department of State I-864 instructions he is included on My I-864 as part of the AOS package. I have thought that there is only one AOS package to send since they are both listed on the form. But maybe I need to send the same I-864 two times? On the department of states web site, Its a tricky thing to understand.

So I have two I-864's, one from me the petitioner and my dad the joint sponser. My income now is more than enough and my dads is also. My wife has alot of money and property in china so she could alone. So I listed her bank accounts and property on both my dads I-864 and mine also. Is this a mistake to list her assests on two I-864's?

I have been so worried about this.

I put "none" in all the Blanks, rechecked the income vs tax return amounts everything I read here that trips people.

But its still not clear to me maybe I need four I-864's. one from both my dad and me for each of them?

So I'm hoping to get an answer from someone that is or has done this with a wife and child. Just dont need anymore delays.

ok, my update...

I suggest acting very confused.. then they act confused then they request a supervisor review... LOL

so yes, I call everyday. I can't help it. Yesterday the guy told me that it shows in the system as "In review" but the mail was not reviewed yet.

so just to clarify, my file has had 4 supervisor reviews since May 1st. LOL I only requested the first on on May 1st.. My file has pages of notes It always takes them a long time to read and catch up.

I talked to Lisa today, When I gave her SNJ for my case number, she asked me to repeat it. I said " SNJ for Costa Rica.. she started laughing and said she doesn't get many for Costa Rica because they call the spanish line. I explained I would love to do that but my spanish is horrible. She thought that was really funny. so she took a minute to read the notes. Finally she said someone put in a request to find my package. I was like.. you mean they just haven't reviewed it yet? she says NO, sometimes they put in requests for the mail to be located and brought to the supervisor. Another supervisor review was put in yesterday and they requested the mail that was received on May 8th.

SOOOOOO, she rattled off the 30 day BS. I just find it strange that they keep putting in supervisor review requests. Maybe they are tired of me calling.... HAHAHAHAHAHA I can't figure these people out. Lisa told me sometimes they do this . She has been there a long time she said... Funny cuz other operators told me they are not allowed to go get the mail . and I had another operator tell me that the mail was combined with my file back on May 12th... soooo who do I believe???? I hope it doesn't take them 30 friggin days to find my mail....

Topic - EP or mailing for NVC. Which is the better option?

Hello, So i got approved with NOA2 on may 14 from NSC and I am practically ready with the AOS and IV packages already. All thanks to information i have gotten here and from Saylin's wiki page. Thanks a lot.

I am filing from Canada so I have both EP or regular mailing system for processing. I wanted to know people in NVC stage, who are submitting their AOS and IV packages, is EP better or worse than mailing documents to NVC? As per saylin's wiki page, once you submit for EP (with the email) you should submit your AOS and IV packet only after you receive confirmation from them. If that is still true, then can any of you who did enroll for EP tell me how much time it takes for them to send the confirmation? Also, is it quicker or the same. I saw the timelines on NVC spreadsheet for the past couple of months, and it didn't make much of a difference in time. Would most people say its true or my estimate is incorrect? Thank you.

We opted EP thinking that it would be better and faster. While we are still awaiting cc snail mails are being approved faster. I have seen VJers waiting for more than a month for EP registration. You however save on courier costs.

When do you think they will start scheduling July interviews LoveMyTico?

I have read that the CC email could take a week to be sent. I would rather call everyday and find out right away. It will take away some stress for sure. Also from what I read, interviews start getting scheduled the last week of the month and the first week of the next month. But it seemed like the June interviews were well into the second week of May this month. If I am worng, somebody please correct me..
