It really is, I feel like throwing in the towel with frustration! I just spoke to a lovely lady at the call centre and she said that my UK certificate was not in the file. IT WAS!! She's put in a 'Supervisor Review' so 30 business days to look for something that was right in front of you all along #winning NVC.

at this very moment, my husband is at the civil registry getting a certified copy of his birth certificate. They have the original. What more could they want??? So the wasted time, the extra money and all this anxiety for a certificate that is already in front of their face

Police certificate is not required at NVC for Costa Ricans. They get special instructions from the embassy and it is to be brought to the interview. 3 agents at NVC read that to me, a supervisor at NVC is confused why they asked for it and the embassy told my husband not to go get it until he gets the instructions. SO why did I get checklisted for it. And now we have to wait 30 days for them to correct THEIR mistake..

Agent Kendall told me that these mistakes happen more than we would ever know... It could be that the agent over looked it but my guess is that since the chimp agent who reviewed my documents didn't read the instructions on Costa Rican requirements, I can also assume they have NO CLUE what an original birth cert looks like. THe original is 34 years old and its from Costa Rica.. not exactly up with the times. but it is the true original.

Lucybelle is having the same problem with her certified marriage certificate. NVC is saying it isn't a certified copy.... It says it right on the marriage certificate. She already got 2 checklists. Its a nightmare

Just got off the phone with Arthur: straight to the point with the conversation.

I was ready to curse him out if he said anything stupid, but he was also straight to the point.

My packages (AoS and IV) are not reviewed yet, up to 30 business days BS.

The good thing is he said they are not done scheduling for Casablanca yet, so there is still some hope!!!!!!!!!!

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box

So p***ed with NVC right now. I've just received a checklist for two police certificates - one UK and one Australian. And now they have introduced a fingerprint certificate for Australia which cost $170. I sent the UK police certificate with my IV package and a statement from the Australian Consulate website saying that the Australian Certificate has been applied for and will be sent direct to the Consulate upon interview. So they know this, so why the checklist? I have never seen or heard of instructions that I have to get a fingerprint certificate - has anyone else?? I'm going to call to see if I can get a case complete and then take the fingerprints with me when I go for my interview. I am so fed up with this process. ARGHHHHHHH!!

When I got a checklist asking for documents that they said were not certified copies, I emailed the NVC and put it to the attention of the DR, which is where the mailed checklists go. My case was completed within 24 hours, instead of the BS 30 business days BS, so that may be worth a try for you to do. I demanded that they pull the files immediately and that I would not sit back and wait because someone did not bother to take the time and see that clearly there was an embossed seal on the documents.

A monkey could do a better job than the buck eejits reviewing the files.

at this very moment, my husband is at the civil registry getting a certified copy of his birth certificate. They have the original. What more could they want??? So the wasted time, the extra money and all this anxiety for a certificate that is already in front of their face

Same advice as to what I advised for Donkey81. Try emailing and put it to the attention of the DR to get them to rectify their mistake and complete the case.

oh no.. i put yet on that vaccination question thinking that i will do it before interview...

am i going to get checklist for that???

any suggestion???

:bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk:

I doubt you'll get checklisted. So rest easy :)

Another question guys! I know I know, i have alot. With the IV package do we need to just have a photocopy of birth certificate and marriage certificate, or do we need to make a photocopy of EVERYTHING!

I'm not sure you've taken the suggestions to read Saylin's wiki... all, or at least most of your questions are clearly answered there, including this question.

I photocopied only the birth and marriage certificates. I'm not sure what the benefit of photocopying the entire package would do as they'll keep it except for your original important documents which they return to you at the interview.

Although I have my own copy of the entire package to take with me to the interview just in case.

If you're including other important originals or statements that you need back, then copy those for sure.

Good luck! :)

I have to second this. :) <3

On a very happy note, I too have come to say that we've officially received a case complete today, as well! I spoke to Gus this evening (who is probably the best representative I've spoken to of all the times I've called the NVC - charming, funny, and very personable), who gave us the good news.

I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that everyone else sees their journey at the NVC come to an end quickly. It's so hard to stay strong through this entire process, but we're doing it, and it's just a true testament to the love and dedication we have to those we love.

Now to eagerly await our interview date!

Congratulations!!! I hope you get a June date :dancing:

Case received at the NVC on : 03/29

IV and AOS packets in the system on : 04/15

Case complete on : 04/29

Department of State, you ROCK my world !!

:goofy::goofy::goofy::goofy:

Congratulations!

Would you please create and update your timeline for us?

You may also wish to correct your sidebar information as it seems a little disoriented :D

hello, finally our case is moving, and i have a question about ds 260, please help, im overthinking it:

Part Address: Is your mailing address the same as your present address?

Which address i should write there-the address overseas where im living now (present address) or the address of my husband in usa (form 261, agent's address)

As the DS260 is about the beneficiary, fill it out from that perspective.. so it's the beneficiary's current address abroad

Call the NVC and ask to speak with a supervisor. Ask them to request a supervisor review.. Same thing happened to me yesterday ! The supervisor didn't understand why they even requested a police certificate... THEY CAN'T EVEN READ THEIR OWN INSTRUCTIONS

Chimpanzees can't read...

Not fair to Chimpanzees.
