Got our case number on the 1st of May! Yay! Waiting for DS-261 and AOS bill ;)

I have a question, my passport is still process (for the change of civil status and last name thingy) and it's going to take a month, I have a copy of my old passport with my maiden name(its expiry is on 2017), can I use it for the IV package? and when I get my passport with my married name, I can just bring it to me at the interview?

i did my name change straight after i got married so i won't have to worry about it anymore. i suggest you call NVC. but before we filed for i-130, the USCIS people said there was no problem sending the copy with my maiden name on it. but to be sure call NVC, this is a completely different stage.

When DS261 is accepted, IV fees are invoiced automatically!

Thank you very much!

When I thought I couldn't hate NVC more... Our AOS fee was rejected after showing PAID for a week. We already mailed the AOS package! And our IV fee shows PAID too but we know it's gonna be rejected too!

We're on the phone with NVC now. They better not make us send the whole AOS package again! :ranting:

Wow, that's terrible. Is this something someone else has experienced as well? Now I'm a little leery about sending in our AOS and IV Packages right after both fees show as paid. Please let us know what they tell you.

Made a call to NVC before bed tonight, and I talked to the guy.

I said Im expecting my case number by next week since the NVC received my case on April 4.

Then he told me its not going be ready till May 19 according to their timeline, which is 6 weeks for entering the case into their system...!!! :protest:

I really don't think that's true. They have given case numbers to people that were received on 4/1. Mine was received on 4/4 too. I think we will get case numbers this week.

When did you send you AoS package and when was it scanned into the system?

They said we don't have to send everything again because the cover sheet it's the same. They also told us that they received our package yesterday (UPS delivered it on tuesday). And that we could complete the DS-260 since it was available even thought the IV fee payment was gonna be rejected.

Luckily our call was answered by this nice lady who was amazed but the fact that my spouse and I have the exact same date of birth.

Just wondering why are your payments getting rejected after PAID? Did it come out of your bank account at all? It just seems odd that it would happen like that.

Bank of America's fault. They gave us the wrong wire number

It never got taken out from our bank account so we called our bank and they said it could take a few days. We didn't think it could go from PAID to REJECTED.
