We're just filling in the DS-260 right now and I'm surprised that it's not asking for employment and education history.

It's prompting for the current employer or school name only. No previous employers and nothing about education.

Is this a new thing?

Seemingly luck of the draw, not everyone is asked for that past history information but there's no known reason why. You might want to be prepared with that info for the interview, but given you're going through London, probably not a big worry :)

Wait.... so you are saying that the DS-260 is not a standard form for everyone but instead changes on a case by case basis? That seems strange... I'm not at that stage yet since I don't even have a case number but I am just curious.

It's not hugely different. The bulk of the application is the same, there are just a couple of sections that some people aren't asked for past information on. Some people report being asked for current employment but not being asked to add employment history, for instance. No apparent rhyme or reason... very strange. It's rare though. My impression from anecdotes around VJ is that the majority of applicants can expect to provide the full information.

Yeah that is strange indeed. We're using Google Chrome. Hopefully this isn't a bug.

Under "Work / Education / Training", she put in "Primary Profession" as "Other" and filled in her profession and current employer.

It then asks "Do you have other occupations?" but does not prompt for history of employment or education.

The "Additional" tab only asks if she's ever served in the military. That's it.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

:wow: Just when I'd completely given up on receiving my ENROLL acceptance email I get it this morning! So I sent my email on April 18 and got the confirmation on May 21, that is more than 30 days -.- This is what they sent me:

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: MTLXXXXXXXXXX filed by PETITIONER'S NAME on behalf of BENEFICIARY'S NAME.

Reminder all documents and forms should only be sent toNVCElectronic@state.gov.

This case is now enrolled in the Electronic Processing Program.

The additional email addresses submitted with the enrollment email were added to our records.

Please note that all forms and documents that we request and require in the future must be scanned copies of the originals. The applicant must present all original forms and documents to the consular officer at their visa interview. Failure to present the required originals at the visa interview will result in a denial or delay in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

We received the Affidavit of Support Processing Fee payment(s) for this case. You must now download and complete the Affidavit of Support form(s). Please visit the following website to download the appropriate Affidavit of Support form(s) and instructions:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3197.html

The next step for your case is Form DS-260. This is an online Immigrant Visa Application form. You can access it at ceac.state.gov.

Everyone on your case who wants to travel to the United States should complete this form. They should also send their civil documents to the National Visa Center so we can review them.

You can learn more about how to apply for a visa at the web page below.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

IMPORTANT:

Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

As this case is processing electronically, all forms and documents must be sent via email as scanned attachments to NVCElectronic@state.gov. Sending physical documents to the NVC will delay the processing of your case.

My case was completed today as NVC received my package on April 29. #fckyeah :dancing:

Congrats!!!!!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

Wow.. I received my case number and Identification number in only 17 business day! Thanks NVC!

That's fantastic!! Time to roll forward :)

IV fee paid and packet sent yesterday and DS-260 available and submitted today! Feels good to be DONE with NVC. Now we await our case complete and interview date. :)

Good luck and may it go smoothly from here! ^_^

Okay guys, a little confused. I downloaded form I-864 and began to fill it out. In the section where you mark who you will be sponsoring, there is already a "1" marked that is not editable where it says "Persons you will not be sponsoring: Yourself" on Page 4 - Part 5 - Question 2

Now the problem is, when I save this document, the copy it makes does not have a "1" marked there nor will it allow me to enter one. Am I the only one having this issue?

Just hand write that in.

Should I have put the case number at the top of all pages of the AOS and IV Packages? I totally forgot to do this and have read about people doing it. Hope it doesn't cause problems....

I was glad I did, as they temporarily lost my PCC, but I had the case number on it and they located it in the mailroom it seems.

Hey Saylin

I got approved at the LDN embassy yesterday! [...]

Congrats TYorke1!!

So I've noticed most people who received a case number around the same time as me already have CC and now people after me are getting CCs and I'm just sitting here, humming and waiting.... Wondering when I will see my boo thang.

I realize that was a run-on sentence and I apologize. It was also improper English and as a teacher I should know better. But this entire process gives me the right to throw all grammatical reasoning out the window.

Calling this evening so they can tell me to wait 30 business days... Again.

:P Good luck!!

Hi guys. I called NVC today and the lady told me i have a checklist for proof of employment. (I dont know what I was thinking why I didn't include my letter of employment on my AOS packet) anyway, where do I send the checklisted document? Is it the same address as where AOS was sent before? And do i have to wait for the email stating i have a checklist before sending the letter of employment? Do i have to include again the bar coded paper from AOS bill when sending the checklist? Thank you guys in advance for your replies..

I got my emailed NVC checklist the day after I found out by phone that there was an issue. So I used that email's coversheet and the page they advise you to include (describes what was requested), and sent that in .

"If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you."

"Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference."

I think it depends how you answer the question "have you been previously employed?" I clicked no, before and it asked for nothing, when you click yes, It asks for all the information.. My goodness going back 10 years and all those years to school.. Then hearing my wife "Hey, when I was 6 you were just starting secondary school!" :/. (We're only 5 years apart, it seems creepy when you think about back that many years..!

It did not prompt her for "Have you been previously employed?"

Instead she is asked "Do you have any other professions?"

Weird, heh?

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.
