LoveMyTico I feel your pain. I have also gotten anxiety over all of this and sometimes take it out on my husband, when he seems so calm about everything. I've been handling everything, with him maybe doing a few things here and there, and it stinks. The job I have also barely covers my bills as of now, I can only imagine when he gets here and with no knowledge of english. I paid for him to take english classes and he dropped out bc he said there was nobody to practice with. So this process has me extremely stressed and just thinking of all the work that will come even after he's here has me stressed too. I feel as though I've gained weight too, and I didn't think about that, it probably is due to stress.

I know what you mean. I can't wait to be with hubby but I know when he comes it will also be stressful. He speaks ok English but his problem is he can't write very well. He can read some but still,,,,,, I've been looking at jobs he may be able to get but all the requirement say " must be able to understand written instructions". This worries me. It's important for him to work very soon after he arrives. I own a home and I can float the bills myself but I live very cheaply. I don't have internet or cable. ( I have an iPhone ). Anything else I need to print or do online I can do at work. But bills for 2 is more. (Obviously ) plus he has a son who will need $$$$ sent home for a yr or 2 til he finishes school. I can't pay for that. So it won't be an easy road for us but we knew that from the beginning. I just wish I had more $$$ I want to give him everything. He always say "2 people together can make amazing things" which is true. And I know how determined he is. He has that manly pride. So I know eventually it will be fine but the beginning will be tough.

You may want to re-send corrected barcode sheet again and do not wait for checklist as it may delay the process.

I tell my husband how awesome his english is. He gets all embarrassed ! HA HA

Just speak english to him. Speak slow and make him learn. My husband even has the slang down pat. He watches TV in english over there. Shows like Big Bang Theory and Friends. It helps him so he doesn't lose it ! He's been back in CR since Nov 2011 and since we talk everyday and he watches english TV shows, he hasn't lost anything.

We all need a CC by Friday. That would put us in the running for July scheduling.

How long does it take for the NVC to ship the file after they schedule an interview? Do the ship it right out? A day or two? or do they hold on to it to get one last jab ?

In most cases, the file is sent one day after the interview is scheduled. In rare cases, it can take up to a week or so.

Hell Yea... it was 11 long months of my my life.. How could I forget ???? I really thought I'd be done with the NVC by now.....

Packet 4 is the interview letter; there is no bar-coded cover sheet. Do you mean the IV package instead? (IV isn't the Roman numeral for 4, it's the letters IV - Immigrant Visa)

And no, you won't get a checklist for the wrong bar-coded cover sheet. It may just delay it in a tiny bit as they re-route it to the correct department and verify you paid the IV bill. There is absolutely NO need to re-send the package with the correct bar-coded cover sheet. Just sit tight and wait.

I have no idea. My case was complete was 4/30 and I still haven't had the interview scheduled. Hopefully they send it so they can't get bored and just look for stuff on it.

Hey Guys my case was shipped to NVC, will I receive a mail that they received it or I will have to call them?

Your case will take anywhere from a few business days up to about 3 weeks to arrive at the NVC. You will need to call them to find out if it has arrived or not. They will not email you or send anything by mail to let you know this.

**Also, please be sure to read the NVC Wiki. There is a link for it in the first post of this forum (on page 1 of NVC Filers - May 2014). It will help you with a lot of questions like this one.

When I realized our lawyer made a huge mistake in the AOS 1 day after he sent it, I just printed out the Barcode page and resent the corrected AOS. There is a different barcode for checklists( dept cade) and for IV packages BUT NVC told me it is just a matter of walking it over to the correct dept.

It will get scanned with your case number so they will know there is mail waiting for review for your file. Its all good. Don't worry.

I don't know about other VJ members, but me personally, VERY tired from NVC and theirs inconsistency . I requested an expedite due to situation in my country and another reason, so our daughter will be able to start new school year in US in time. NVC pre approved our expedite, but they said that they need to get AOS an IV docs, so we did. I called them today to see how long it will take to review it and rep told me 20-30 days and that expedite doesn't matter (SO what good does it do to have an expedite?????) BS...... I know for sure, that two other members from VJ, who requested an expedite for theirs family members from Ukraine got it approved right after NVC received all docs from them. WHY WHY WHY it always different, not just for me for other VJ members too ( RjKatya he didn't even send IV package to the NVC his wife brought it to the embassy) First I got wrong case number, because some Idiot made a mistake and it took them 3 weeks to fix it.

Every day is getting worse and worse here, where I and our daughter at and I don't know what to do. I am scared and frustrated GOD, please HELP us All!!!!! I pray every day! We don't want a lot, we just want to be together with our loved ones, I don't think we are asking too much!

I can't believe they didn't expedite it due to the situation in your country.. I hope they sort themselves out quickly for you!

We're just filling in the DS-260 right now and I'm surprised that it's not asking for employment and education history.

It's prompting for the current employer or school name only. No previous employers and nothing about education.

Is this a new thing?

My hubby watches American movies! He knows a lot of the moviestars by name! Lol! He even learned some swear words! When I went there last year he was making dinner and the oven was acting up and he said. Oh f@&k! I laughed at this!! And asked him where he learned that. (Cause I know it wasn't from me!) and he said The Movies! So funny!!!
