How do we get informed on interview schedule after NVC? Do we receive e-mail confirmation?

I understand interview date could be scheduled even in a few days after 'case complete', if you receive e-mail notification is there any time delay? or should we call NVC to find out what's going on without any time lag?

IR1 applied from overseas

NOA1: 18 Sep 13 (NBC)

NOA2: 19 Mar 14 (CSC)

NVC received: 21 Mar 14

NVC case # assigned: 22 Apr 14

I have read a good amount of this thread but there is 290 pages! So I am sorry if this has been asked already.

I was wondering....... I am currently filling out the I864 and my mother is going to be my joint sponsor. However, my parents filed taxes together. Does that mean that my dad also needs to fill out an I864 or just my mother. I get so confused with tax papers! Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Thank you

IV fee finally paid!!!!! :dancing:

Yahoo! That's awesome! I hope mine is next!

did everyone know that the NVC website has a sample for the DS-260, I didn't know that. Here's the link if anyone is interested :)

http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/DS-260%20Exemplar.pdf

This is super great! I hadn't seen it before, and it will be really helpful. Thanks for posting!

CanGirl Is the DS-260 not electronically sent like the DS-261? If so why in heavens name do you have a cover or bar code for it? Just curious at this point. :)(F)(L)(F)

I think it's just to help them to match one to the other. (ie: match IV docs to the 260)

is it me or are the NVC wait times a bit longer than usual this week?

Two factors: the new website interface (especially the fact that "pay now" shows up immediately and is clickable, even though the bills are not payable) and the fact that this year's diversity visas just became eligible for processing.

Which is awesome. *sarcasm dripping*. First we wait for the DACAs to go ahead of us at USCIS, and now the DVs are swarming NVC. I really hope my IV fees are invoiced tomorrow. It's been 10 days since I did ds261, and we were down south this past weekend but our joint sponsor hasn't finished her part of the AOS package so we're stuck. And, apparently, I'm getting a little b**chy.

Is your timeline updated?

Here is what I found:

When will your tax transcripts be available?
A. If you were not required to send a payment to the IRS, your transcript information should be available two weeks after
filing electronically or eight weeks after filing by mail.
B. If you had to send the IRS a payment, your transcript should be available after May 1st if you filed electronically and
after June 1st if you filed by mail.
C. If you filed for an extension, your transcript should be available two weeks after your final return is filed.

Sukie

I sent my 2013 taxes on May 1st from Japan (we get an auto extension since I live overseas). They have already received my tax info because when I log on to request a transcript, they have a short version, but not the longer one that is recommended when you click on “immigration” for the reason you need it (as I was able to do for my 2012 and 2011 transcripts. Based on my estimated timeline, I will be able to send the AoS sometime in June, but the estimate you posted says 8 weeks for filing by regular mail for the transcript to be available. I am sending the transcripts for 2011 and 2012 but do you think it is OK to just send the 1040, 2555EZ and W2 for the 2013 year if the full version of the 2013 transcript isn’t ready yet? Should I send that along with the shorter version of the transcript? I would rather not wait until it becomes available if it is not ready when I need to send my AoS packet. I have to report my income as $0 anyway since I won’t continue this job after moving so I am hoping they aren’t so strict about it. Any help is appreciated.

I hope so, since that's what we're going to do! Probably transcripts will be available by interview time so if they want to see them, I'll bring them then!

I just checked. Diversity Visa applicants do use the same CEAC portal to file their DS-260 forms. However, their documents are reviewed by the Kentucky service center, including interview scheduling which is delayed till the start of the next fiscal year beginning in October.

The AoS fee is invoiced almost at the same time as DS261 is ready.

Once you pay AoS fee, print the bar code and send the AoS packet. Don't wait for it to show PAID. NVC will not get to review it until it shows PAID anyway. but you can wait for it.

But with the IV fee, it is invoiced after DS261 is accepted. Once you pay the IV fee, print the bar code sheet and send the packet immediately. The later packet will usually determine when you get a CC.

You can ask your husband to send you the IV docs now, as you have almost two weeks before you need to send them (about two weeks for the IV fee to be invoiced).

Good luck

Thank you my friend put it on Notepad on my desktop so I don't have to ask again, sent text to husband to send me all the documents and with some help and wind at the rear of the plane it should get to me soon. :) Thank you again (F)(L)(F) .
