Hey guys - A quick question. My wife's birth certificate has her given name differently due to a mistake when her birth was registered. She has never used this name in any type of record and her national card/passport and certified copies of her passport has her real name. The back of her original birth certificate has the issuing authority acknowledging her real name. On the DS-260 it asks if any other names has been used, should we mark yes or no?

Very interesting and unique problem one worthy of being answered. I would think that the back of the birth certificate showing the real name would be enough but I would get a new one showing the correct name. Better be safe than sorry, hope someone with more knowledge than has or will help you out. Much luck to you and yours.

Called NVC and they want an original marriage cert even though I sent in a certified copy. Asked my senator to request another supervisor review because no way in hell I'm sending my original certificate to those brainless fuckwads who can't read CERTIFIED COPY on the paper.

4am and I can't sleep. So upset about this visa #######. I feel like I can't get a break. I'm doing everything right. And it's still taking forever. Why the are they giving me such a hard time? God I could scream! I send in a certified copy of my marriage cert and they say it's only notarized. If they took 10 seconds of their ###### time to read the goddam paper they'd see CERTIFIED COPY printed on it.

I'm so frustrated. Why can't I catch a ###### break? Why can't I be done with NVC in a month? Why can't I be done with USCIS in less that TEN MONTHS???!!!! Why can't they not my life over just one goddamn time???!!!!

I would call them as well. Sometimes they need to be prodded to get moving. You are past 5 business days, and they should get a supervisor involved for you. Let's pray we can all get moving on these DS-260 forms this weekend!

Sorry to hear that. I feel bad for your situation because it took more than 10 months for you to receive an NOA2, and you're now having a difficult time at NVC. Life is not definitely fair.

I received a checklist for getting a couple numbers turned around on my income. I sent the corrected forms in. They received them on April 17th. Now we set waiting.

hello, finally our case is moving, and i have a question about ds 260, please help, im overthinking it:

Part Address: Is your mailing address the same as your present address?

Which address i should write there-the address overseas where im living now (present address) or the address of my husband in usa (form 261, agent's address)

Do you have anything to support your employment or schooling plans? I'm sure there are many things that could be added to the domicile section, but that's the first thing that came to mind for me (someone who hasn't focussed on the topic since we don't have that step... so take what I say with a grain of salt )

Thank you for responding! No plans yet, job hunting is kinda difficult from across the pond Has anyone else who filed from abroad had issues with this? Will they require evidence of employment plans? And if so, what kind? Printed out job ads? Can't really apply for jobs since we have no idea how much longer this process will take. We have a joint sponsor, so that'll cover the financial part.

The AOS Fee finally showed as paid yesterday and now I'm waiting for the IV Fee to show as paid.

Quick question: do I have to call the NVC to confirm if they added the DS-261 to the case file or can I assume they added it because the IV Fee has already been invoiced? I'm a little confused about that.
