NVC Filers - May 2014

Hey Bulwara Road, and all Australians in the pipeline...we've had a terrible time with NVC and police reports. The reviewer of our file has coded that my partner needed a police report from EACH state in which she has lived. Of course, Australia now has a federal police check, and you only need ONE report. We would have had Case Complete as of April 29 if the reviewer had not misinterpreted the rules for Australia. Neither I nor my attorney has been able to get them to rectify this situation yet.

If you are in Australia, and you have lived in multiple states, in your IV cover letter you might want to mention that you are including the FEDERAL Fingerprint report that you have received through applying via your state of residence. And then, mention that Australia requires you to request your FEDERAL report through your CURRENT state of residence.

If you are a residence of QLD or NSW, you should mention that your FEDERAL Fingerprint report, which MUST be obtained through your CURRENT state of residence, and ONLY through your current state of residence, will be sent directly to the Consulate.

Our file was perfect - and NVC screwed up. This is delaying us by at least six weeks, unfortunately, as we have missed the June interview cut-off, and, if they take the 30 business days to address the issue, as they keep telling me, we will miss the July cutoff for interviews too.

Sukie

Not cool! :(

Really appreciate your positive vibes.

If it does happen to me again, at least I'll still be with my family. My heart really goes out to some of the cases I came across; for example couples being separated by 2-3 years of administrative processing with, yet, no end in sight.

There really should be some serious accountability, especially when a USC spouse/partner/child is victimized in this manner.

The fact that you have to wait for months, just to schedule an interview at the Cairo consulate, and to be subjected to atrocious harassment then is another thing that really gets under my skin. The volume they have to process is nothing to what Mexico, India and Philippines consulates are handling, and yet they seem to be infected by the draconian Egyptian civil service attitudes. From what has been described elsewhere, it almost sounds like visa applicants there are dealing with a US-hostile local police station, not a US consulate.

Yes I know didn't want to say about those cases didn't want to discourage you at all there is enough stress in this process to add more to it.

I agree with you about the Cairo Embassy it's really horrible much more so than most places. There is high fraud but my husband is highly educated and a highly moral man. We don't have children so this scares me even more, I wonder what is in their mean evil minds. When I went in to get my free to marry certificate I as a US citizens was made to feel like trash and that I was being manipulated by my then fiance. He actually expected me to walk out with out the certificate and leave my husband because he said so. I'm scared after waiting so long then the wait for the interview that I might not be able to see him for a very long time. My heart breaks just at the thought of such a horrible scenario. They hold our lives in their hands and laugh, literally at the beneficiary the horror stories are so many that it's easier to find the good interviews which are a handful. God be with us.:crying::crying::cry:

PS. I agree 100% with the rest you mentioned also, you hit the nail on the head.

Hey Sukie

So when I need to get a police report is it best that I get a Federal police report and a Federal fingerprint report?

I have lived in Victoria, NSW, Queensland and Western Australia - currently live in NSW, so I assume you go through the Federal police to obtain this, or do you go through my local (NSW) police?

Thanks

I emailed the consulate a couple of weeks ago asking whether the name check would be sufficient or if they also required the fingerprints... Finally got a response yesterday saying that their initial requirement is for a name check only, however IF at the interview they have reason to believe that you haven't fully disclosed your name and that there may be additional records out there, they may request a fingerprint check as well.

Just realised it doesn't specify whether that was at a state or federal level,, but can't hurt to go federal, right?

CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :energy: :energy:

I called at 1140 EST thinking there's no way I'll get through before they drop all calls, but at 1208 (gosh I forget who she was now  ), the rep answered!! :D And they 'FOUND' my police certificate upon review by the supervisor, probably that 'piece of mail still listed in the mailroom' - which I assume fell off the package when they opened it to scan the barcoded sheet...

I asked her if they could possibly still be doing June interviews and she wasn't sure, but that's better than a definite 'NO'

Anyways, I'm so happy!! My heart is pounding, and I wish this feeling very soon for each of you!!! :luv:

CONGRATULATIONS

I will probably go federal, as I have lived in several states - will take my chances re fingerprints.

CONGRATULATIOOONS! So happy for you! You must be thrilled! The checklist review went very fast for you, did you ask for a supervisor review (even though they say it takes 30 days), then sent back the paper they lost? Or did you just respond to the checklist?

Good luck for the June interview, who knows maybe they are still scheduling or maybe you there will be a cancelation! :-)

Well I called a week ago and they told me they have received the checklist, I will wait another week before calling again (it's stressing me too much to call often). But if Lakehouse had case complete before the 2 weeks mark without asking for a supervisor review, then I will definitely call again this week! :-) What about your case? Edited by MsGoyave

USPS delivered my package yesterday so i'm not going crazy at this moment. i'm just curious how long does it take to review checklists responses.

i'm a lil bit in a hurry cause of my huband's employment situation. he's an english teacher here in Poland, school year is almost done and it doesn't make sense to stay here and waste time.

i praying for early july interview.
