All the docs submitted to NVC WILL BE FORWARDED to the embassy. NVC does not keep docs. They just go through them to make sure they correct and accurate.

Once they accept them and case complete. The entire file is then forwarded to the embassy for the final decision by the CO.

THANK GOD!!! Thank youuuuu. That would've been a pain to get all that stuff. The last time I had to travel like 3 hours each way just to get my birth certificate, and then find street parking in Manhattan or pay $50 for half hour parking!! You are my hero of the day! lol

Not today though as it's raining cats and dogs outside. Maybe this weekend as my husband will be gone to Texas for the long weekend so I'll have the apartment to myself (and my cat, lol).

Hmmm... Fascinating! And I hadn't realized ELIS is so new. On a side note, I do love the name, ELIS! It's an acronym, I know, but I can't help but think it was created on purpose to thoughtfully remind of Ellis Island

I thought the same thing when I first heard of ELIS and what it was. If there is one thing all governments are good at, is creating acronyms. They are even better at creating acronyms with puns! If we look at the logo for ELIS, it does have the Statue of Liberty next to it, so I think you are right.

Coincidentally, I went to NYC this weekend and took the ferry to both Liberty and Ellis islands. Very humbling to see what those immigrants went thru to live in the USA. I do not think we are anywhere near their struggles, but in a way our spouses are experiencing something of the like. A rite of passage, if you will.

I want to punch something. USCs living abroad are being auto-expedited again. If I had turned in the I130 one month earlier I could have been autoexpedited. If I had turned in the I130 four months later I would be further along in the process. And evidently if I had turned it in just a few weeks ago I could be at almost the exact same place I am now.

I hate this stuff so much. Fourteen months and counting.

Will I get a checklist if I only send in his info?? Because he makes more than enough.. I don't want to get a checklist saying she has to file a I-864a

Also, but, I got my first, very own car yesterday and thought I'd share the great news with you awesome folks It's a brand new, 2014 Prius. Only had 1 mile on it! I've wanted this car for years and years and finally got one! Although, I definitely wasn't expecting to get one, lol. I've been having car issues with the hand-me-down I received 2 years ago and my husband merely suggested I test drive one (since I never had before). Few hours later, ended up driving this off the lot The 50 mpg is nice though

(Sorry for me squinting, but the sun was bright, and this was the less squinty photo of the bunch )

Also thinking of getting a personalized license plate: Saylin! Not only do I use that name here but pretty much on all sites as my username

hey guys . we need your help .. my wife made 2500$ in 2011 and the same she did in 2012 but in 2013 she made 29000 $ .than she started a new job since june 2013 to till now she has made 34000$ .. so is it be enough for 4 family member ? and what year we should mention in affidavit 2013 or 2014 ? please any help will be highly appreciated .. thanks alot all fo you ..

You have not received your NOA2 yet, therefore you do not require filling out the AOS just yet. For poverty guidelines please do another search.

Anyone call NVC yet? I'm really hoping for a Case Complete this week. Everything has been on hold for 9 months now...soon 10. I would like to know if it is worth going to meet my husband in Portugal for the summer or if he'll be here in early July so we can start our lives in our new home.

Hoping there is good news for many of us this week.

I am assuming they are done with June interviews. Anyone know when they will start scheduling July?

Just to be safe I would suggest he gets an employment letter that clearly states his position, his annual income and how long he has worked there/how long he will continue the job (if the company allows that). Also include 6 months of paystubs from his work (if you can) and his W2's to prove that he does make enough. Along with the tax transcripts that should be enough to get you by hopefully. I am trying to call them but it's non stop busy grrrrrrrrr on the first email it was sent out in early April. Are they now backlogged at the NVC?

when I had called in April they said it was there on the 23rd but they need to scan it, what a pain the @@@ this is
