It's accurate, yes. The ELIS system was only recently introduced (last year). Even before this re-design of the CEAC site, it just said "on post" (or something to that affect). It never updated after that.

Hmmm... Fascinating! And I hadn't realized ELIS is so new. On a side note, I do love the name, ELIS! It's an acronym, I know, but I can't help but think it was created on purpose to thoughtfully remind of Ellis Island :)

Also, :ot: but, I got my first, very own car yesterday and thought I'd share the great news with you awesome folks :) It's a brand new, 2014 Prius. Only had 1 mile on it! I've wanted this car for years and years and finally got one! Although, I definitely wasn't expecting to get one, lol. I've been having car issues with the hand-me-down I received 2 years ago and my husband merely suggested I test drive one (since I never had before). Few hours later, ended up driving this off the lot :jest: The 50 mpg is nice though :D

Since you submitted DS-261 recently, NVC will take about a week to process it and approve it. Only after that they will generate the IV-invoice. Then a few days later you will be able to complete DS-260. So in about 2 weeks from now you will be able to complete everything and submit everything. Give NVC another 2 weeks for CC. So you are looking at middle of June for CC.

Take a look at the NVC Spreadsheet here to get a better idea:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtbvTEwLyHz1dDhjM3lXTEl1cW1SbjRwdW9YRGlIanc&hl=en#gid=0

Why not submit your dates in the form provided by Ms. Saylin (link in the first post)? That helps everyone. Your consulate information (on your Timeline) is incorrect.

Congratulations. Now need a quick interview date. Best wishes.

Thank you !!

The I-864A form itself isn't enough since his income is being considered since he's sending in the form. That's what the I-864A is all about, contributing income. Any and every sponsor have to include tax information. And since he's using his income to help out, he'll also need to include proof of current employment through pay stubs and/or an employment letter. Same thing goes for the main joint sponsor.

Question then please. I'm having a problem in that my parents are retired and they don't make enough filing jointly to qualify to fill out income tax. They receive Social Security one small pension and rental they receive rent from, they own their property out right so no mortgage except to pay taxes at the end of the year. Wouldn't it be enough to show Social Security papers proof of their property as assets etc? How would they get any Federal income tax papers when they don't file? What a dilemma! Hope you or someone can help me out. (F) (L) (F)

Haha because we are all forced to relax. We aren't able to call and post updates... I'm one of the callers this thread hates... But ask me if I care. Reading all the complaints about how often others call just makes me want to call one more time per day... I held back many comments as I was reading all of that... HA HA

I'll be calling everyday this week.. because I CAN. Once at noon and once at 10pm .

I know its hard for you to call because you're working.. we should hear something good this week. My husband keeps asking me " do you think it will be this week?" I say yes.... so it better be this week.

Don't count me in as being one of those members, I feel you should call as often as you like and if you don't want to that's good to. Don't understand why anyone would be upset because someone calls. (F)(L)(F)

Hi Everyone,

Panicking a bit over here. :clock: I provided my 2013 1040 (my Transcript wasn't ready yet) but no W-2's because my employment is foreign. I sent a letter of resignation from my employer here overseas as well as a Letter of Employment Contract for my new job in the USA.

I did not include my pay stubs for my job here and think maybe I should have. Should I send them or wait for a checklist??

Thank you!!!!

I wouldn't send anything else at this point. Pay stubs aren't required documentation so you shouldn't get a checklist for not including them.

One more question for you! :D

So if I just send my paper tax return and W2 to NVC instead of a transcript, how would NVC verify my return with IRS if IRS hasn't had chance to file my return yet?

Not sure to be honest, there must be some process to verify in cases where returns aren't processed yet, filing extensions were granted, etc. Can't guess what that might be but lots of people have those situations, it'll be fine :) I would plan on having the 2013 transcript available at the interview just in case though.

Hello! A pleasant day to all VJ people! Has anyone tried to reschedule their appointment earlier through ustraveldocs.com/ph . Anyone from Manila? Because I already have an interview date on June 26, scheduled by the NVC. Is it okay to reschedule earlier?

We got an earlier interview date but we got it by calling the US embassy in my hubby's country. He called twice. The first time they did not have our documents yet and they told him to call back in a week. So he did and they moved it up. From June 16th to June 5th. I know it's only 11 days but still......... It makes us happy and it is going to make other things easier for us as far as travel plans are concerned. Hope this helped. Good Luck! (F)

Good Luck! (F)

Congrats :). 11 days makes a massive difference though!!

(Sorry for me squinting, but the sun was bright, and this was the less squinty photo of the bunch  )

Also thinking of getting a personalized license plate: Saylin! Not only do I use that name here but pretty much on all sites as my username :D

Congrats on your new car!
