Looking at many similar timelines,i was expecting a case complete for us.

Called up NVC just to hear that AOS was accepted and IV is still under review.

Looking at my timeline,what do you VJ folks think?any time soon or another long wait!!

Im sure its going to be a July interview but at least il have a fixed date to look forward to.

Finally have a case number!! Quick question - I called up the NVC and I didn't give over my email address (apparently she already knew it because she quoted it to me and I was like, sounds right!). In any case, do I just wait for an email now? I looked over the NVC wiki and I know I'm waiting for the first form DS something or other. Do I just sit back and wait for the emails to come now?

If you're the petitioner, yes they have your email address. It's the beneficiary's email that could be provided to NVC so that you both receive the emails from NVC.

Never just sit back, hehe, study the wiki to be fully prepared, and check the CEAC site so that you can do the DS261 as soon as it's available.

Hello everyone,

I called NVC again this morning to ask them if my case number has been assigned. After waiting for about 40 mins, I was told that it has been assigned and when I asked for IIN number, the rep asked me back what it was, I gave her the full form of IIN. She gave me 7 digit number but told me that I won't be able to do anything with it. And she added that I have to wait for few weeks to receive email from them. I thought I had to wait for 30 days and they will give me whatever number I needed and that I would go ahead and take the next steps...I am not understanding why they're telling me to wait again? Any one here, please feel free to give me advise or share your experience...just when I thought the waiting game is almost over...It's making me angry instead and I can't do anything about it!

They will always tell you to wait... and their stated time frames are not accurate but it's what they have to say.

So just follow our timelines and signatures, and the Wiki, and you'll get through this just fine

With the case # usualy comes the IIN # (Invoice Identification Number).

You need both to log in into ceac.state.gov where you can check if your DS261 and AoS fee are ready.

Usually it takes couple of days of case # is assigned for DS261 and AoS fee to be ready, but sometimes they are ready rioght away.

You can go ahead and try.

Thank you...I checked out the website that you suggested...looks like I need my case number, the rep didn't give it to me. From what others are talking about here...I am thinking she probably gave me IIN number only, because the number she gave me includes only 7 digits and no alphabets...OH MY GOODNESS... i will probably have to call those rude reps again and waste another 40 minutes of my life...

the case # starts with three letters for the embassy code (CSB for casablanca) and then the year 2014 then six numerical digits

Call back and they will give it to you right away.

This is normal right? I got this message when checking case on the CEAC website. I know my forms probably aren't ready yet I just wanted to visit the site and see what it looked like and get acquainted with it.

So is this normal for when waiting on forms and fees to become available?

"Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time"

Has anyone run into the situation where you still get the "This case is in the process of termination..." error when trying to login to the payment portal AFTER your attorney received the email with the AOS and IV invoices + instructions?

I got my NVC case # assigned on 5/09 and the invoices were emailed to my attorney on 5/25 in the afternoon (EST). It's now almost 20h since she received the email and forwarded to me and I'm still getting the above error when trying to login to pay.

The dates you mentioned don't add up!

I guess you meant case # assigned 5/09 and email received 5/15 but still can't pay.

Lately it has been taking a week or a little more after case # assigned.

After you get the email to pay the fees, it should take 1 to 3 business days for teh fees to be ready. If not, you call NVC to inquire!

I did make a call after my post here again...and this time the rep actually gave me the case number as well as IIN number...now I'm relieved... thanks so much for your support guys!! made my friday

Email to attorney with both AOS/IV invoices and instructions received 5/15.

Still can't login to payment portal on 5/16.

I haven't seen any other mention of waiting 1-3 business days for the emailed invoiced fees to become "ready". It seems the first steps at NVC are different when using an attorney though.
