I wouldn't worry yet, as I've seen a lot of strange things happen in the time between being sent from USCIS to NVC... and neither location seems to be able to guide folks as to where their case is or what the details might be on the situation.

You could always try calling USCIS again (suggestions on this forum include repeated calls and taking the general consensus when there are differing responses)... or you could wait till next week and try again... or maybe someone else here has some other information that is more helpful on the topic :hehe:

Thank you, unfortunately, I've called USCIS so many times this week already and have spent hours and hours on hold, I don't think I can stomach another phone call... This week anyway! haha

I'll wait until Next wednesday to start calling NVC, It will have been a week by then.

Called Lawyer and they verified that they sent to original birth cert.... Called NVC back and talked ot Jean.. She put us in for a supervisor review because I challeged them. It is absolutely the original. It is just really old looking. It has the stamps on it and the numbers of what book and page it is recorded at the registry. Also a second page with more stamps.

I am sending my husband all the way to San Jose tomorrow just to get a certified copy just incase and I will send it again !! #######??? and Jean told me I don't need to get it translated since its going to a spanish speaking embassy.. ( not sure I will believe her but they have the original translation in the original package) Not too sure about what they are telling me . Jean told me they are not even finished reviewing the package. So maybe they will see a supervisor request and get it done all in one shot. She did tell me Supervisor reviews take up to 30 days ( but doesn't everything at the NVC?) I'm so angry. This is a joke. They have to realize that every country is different. Not all birth certs are pretty like the United States.

Oh my god, I'm sorry. Instead of a checklist, this could have been your case complete. I really hope it gets reviewed soon.

Hey guys - A quick question. My wife's birth certificate has her given name differently due to a mistake when her birth was registered. She has never used this name in any type of record and her national card/passport and certified copies of her passport has her real name. The back of her original birth certificate has the issuing authority acknowledging her real name. On the DS-260 it asks if any other names has been used, should we mark yes or no?

Yeah, I just got off of the phone with NVC. They have not received the case yet and she was telling me to wait 5 weeks (yeah right!). I will try again on Monday. :)

I think NVC will probably receive your case next Monday or Tuesday. :clock:

I hate to disappoint you, but don't expect a fast delivery service from NSC. I guess you already know that.

Hi

I have a query regarding the AOS, and I hope one someone here can help. We are still to be allocated a case number at the NVC, but am getting all of my ducks in a row for when we do.

Now I sort of understand the requirement to have a % of either cash or assets that can be easily converted to cash that is above the poverty line - I am unsure what this means exactly, but from reading previous posts I think for a couple we need to demonstrate that we have approximately $75K of cash/assets.

Currently we have approx $20K in cash, and my wife has a house in Las Vegas that she paid $147K for in 2012. Her current mortgage balance is approx $110K, and the agent she used to purchase the house has said the house is now worth approx $190K.

What will we need to show on the AOS to back this up? Will we need to get a full appraisal for the property or can we use a thing called a BPO (Brokers Price Opinion), which is like an appraisal except that it is done by a realtor. A BPO is an official source (from what I have been told) to ascertain the value of a property.

Thanks in advance for any opinions or experiences with this

I wish they realized that.

My lawyer told me to sent two different original Birth certificate to NVC coz one that I have in English looks unique.

So I sent two BS, one in English and one in My native language.

Congrats to everyone for Case complete and Interview date assigned. :dancing::dancing:
