Did u always get an auto reply? Cus im not getting them

No I didn't. I was told by several different operators at NVC that they don't always send out auto reply's. As long as the email didn't get bounced back to you, then NVC likely did receive. Atleast that's what they told me. I didn't receive auto replies and they still received my emails

I called NVC for the first time tonight. I only had to wait 20 minutes or so. Our case was received on May 12, 11 days after our NOA2. I will call back in early June for a case number.

I hope no one is facing major hiccups. Congratulations to the recent case completes and interview dates!

hello everyone,

I am in the process of writing the cover letter and reason for not filing taxes letter, I noticed on Saylin's sample letter, she put spot for signature. Because I am doing EP, do I need to print out the letters and sign them? or can I just write my name in?

Also, i know that for people sending there documents through mail they write the case number of all documents, do we have to do that for EP as well?

Not positive on the signatures, although I'm betting people actually signed then rescanned them.

And I definitely remember people adding their case number to documents even with EP - I think that's addressed in the wiki also.

I've been thinking this as I followed this thread lately, too. There's so much negativity here recently and much of it comes from obsessive phone calls with long wait times and less-than-charming operators. I don't personally understand why multiple calls per day is a good use of time, simply because knowing a status for example 6 hours sooner than you might've won't make any difference to your case processing. Obviously it's a personal decision, but I feel bad for everyone involved -- both on our end and NVC's. This isn't pleasant for anyone.

I know NVC is staffed by call center personnel who are paid to provide customer service, but they aren't government employees. I can't imagine they have rock star salaries and they probably get treated like garbage all day. Hasn't anyone on this thread worked in customer service? Even if the job tasks are easy, it's challenging dealing with people all day. It's exhausting and frustrating. They're humans and imperfect just like the rest of us. They're also not responsible for the case processing decisions (i.e., reviews and checklists) driving everyone insane. I've spoken to all the operators who have been named here and have never had a bad experience, so to see them essentially being bullied in absentia is a little unsettling. I kind of wish I'd had a bad experience at some point just so I could know where all the negative comments have come from. They're paid to do their jobs to certain expectations, yes, but I personally feel a responsibility to be a good customer to the people serving me. I've never felt someone being nasty to me was justification for being unpleasant in return, though I'm keenly aware that others will feel differently. Perhaps if folks made fewer superfluous phone calls, the operators would be less overwhelmed, their quality of life would improve, they would be happier while serving their customers, and hold times would go down.

I know VJ is an awesome place to vent and commiserate. I'm really thankful for that, and that's why I hesitated to volunteer my own unpopular opinion above. I just wanted to maybe add some perspective, because I feel things have become a bit more hostile than usual. I really wish all the best for everyone waiting here. I know the hell we've all gone through and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope all of you get the news you're waiting for soon.

okay, i am freaking out. I am looking over my i864 document and i noticed that it said SECURED next to the name of the file when I open it. I downloaded into from the NVC website and saved it to my computer and filled it out. DId everyone had the same thing? If not, how do I fix it? I don't want NVC to not be able to open it

The way most people have commented about the customer service was not good. I am glad someone has had a positive response. I also think it's a waste of everyone's time to call more than a couple times a week. If someone called me 4 times in one day I would not be very courteous either. Our revised paperwork has been setting there since April 17th. It's getting close to 20 business days and no response yet. This is my reason for my very fist call to NVC. We were hoping for a June interview but it does not look good. So until my wife can join me here, I will be flying there for a couple of weeks. Then there is Skype, email and viber.

Also, I am trying to fix the 2 passport picture. I pasted the pic into words, wrote the full name, date of birth and case number. I saved it as pdf, when I open it on adobe, it shows the picture and the all of the empty, white space from words, is that acceptable?

Hi Zeba, I dont think U need to send in copies of your passport for that. Just copy of Natz Cert. should be good. They want proof of your citizenship.

where did you have your interview for N 400? Holtsville? and when? I am scheduled for oath ceremony on may 20th @ central islip court.

I had my interview on April 29th also in Holtsville unfortunately I still did not get any letter for my oath yet I checked on the uscis tracker with my receipt number and it still shows the same status that my letter was sent out for interview processing etc etc. I'm not sure how much longer they will take to schedule me but im crossing my fingers they do it soon. The officer did mention to me it'll be in central islip court and that they were sending out letters for oath dates for mid may.. now that you told me you have your oath on may 20th, with no letter received yet im guessing I wont be in for may which sucks! When did you have your interview and get your oath letter? I don't know what's taking them so long.

Also will you apply for your passport during the ceremony or do it separately? Are you also planning on applying for the I-130 as well, if so do keep me posted!
