They should call it the ds-OMFG instead

This made me laugh. Thanks I needed that.

I got this email from my lawyer and I am so upset (I am crying right now) I just want to confirm with you guys. Have you had any experience with this kind of answer from NVC.

I spoke with the NVC and they confirmed that they do not have your request to register for electronic filing in their system and that they do not have the affidavit of support in their system either. Soky’s request yesterday was submitted using her email address, but the original contact we received from the NVC came to my email address and both your email addresses, so it is possible that they might not recognize it coming from her email. So I will be sending them another request from my email address. The person I spoke with confirmed that making more than one request should not be a problem.

We then need to wait for them to register us based on either Soky’s email or my email. Then we can resend the Affidavit of Support.

Please Help! if this is true we are going to be so behind.....

I hope you are right! I am following your timeline...thanks

It takes NVC roughly a month to receive emails. So end of this week beginning of next week you should hear something from them. I was freaking out too, but it all worked out and they received all my emails as I now have case complete. Keep your chin up, it will all work out.

Well I believe they focus most on the prior year (2013) and current year's income. Is he making above the poverty line right now?

Yes, he is making money now since Nov.2013. but most part of 2013 he was jobless due to school schedules.

Yup .. me knows.

I am resigned now though.. I am now hoping for July interview, and unless another checklist comes for us, can just sit back and wait. Feels better now rather than that feeling of rushing it along to make the June scheduling, since it is out of our hands anyways.

What has me worried is seeing you and others getting 2 or more checklists spaced out like that, seems so unfair.. esp if they lost things or asking for things they don't need.

I wonder if Saylin or others who have been here many months/years, know if this is a new trend?.. Are we having more 'lost' things than usual? Seems strange and worrying to me.

That along with the stupid Greek checklists makes me a tad anxious. But then, i think just chilllll, it will surely all be sorted out in the many weeks we have before July scheduling-- knock on wood. :bonk:

Unfortunately, NVC has always seemed to issue checklists for "lost" items or items they're claiming is not original/certified, yet it is. Whether it's more often now, I don't know.

Thank You for the good laugh and the big smile.... :D

So true, too funny.. exactly how we all feel!! :rofl:

I loved this!! :goofy::goofy::goofy:

Pure genius!!! :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Just sent this to my wife in the US (a fanatical dog lover) It'll make her day :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I love this! Very original :)

This is ammmmmmaaaazing!! I needed that this morning :luv:

This is awesome, it made my week!! :rofl::rofl:

I just used your "flowchart" as visual prop to explain the visa process to some of my work buddies.

Thanks guys! I'm happy you all like it.

I use this to explain the visa process to my family & friends they understood immediately. Good luck to all. :)

Thank you for this! Adorable!

I miss our puppy so much. We adopted her from the local Humane Society when she was about 5 months old. We chose her birthday to be in May, so she'll be 3 next week. After spending practically every single hour of every day with her for 15 months, I haven't seen her in 18... We won't have kids. She's our "dog-ther". My husband sent me a little video of him picking her up from "daycare" this week. Before I got out of bed this morning I watched it four times! Yeah... This wait is so hard in so many levels. I'm thankful for this group, that makes things bearable!

Thanks! My husband has 3 dogs, they all waiting for me.

The closer you get to the end, the harder it is. We have the similar timeline. We will get through it! (F)

I'm sure there will be a brief reprieve from this site once your hubby comes home (as there should be!) LOL

And thank you! I can't tell you how nice it feels to be almost finished with this process! I'm hoping and praying for a July interview - I think we'll be cutting it close if we do.

The friendships and bonds that I've made on here have really kept me sane throughout this nightmare. Amazing how we've all connected through trauma lol

I plan on strongly suggesting a "no VJ during time together" policy, but that will still leave us working hours to check in here :lol: I don't want to lose a lot of evening and weekend quality time to being online, but realistically, the internet has been our lifeline and connection to each other for a long while. It might take some time to break that habit and adjust to the way-more-awesome reality of being in the same house. We'll get there, though! That's been our mantra since starting this process. And as we set out on our new path forward and deal with lingering trauma (lol... kind of!), it'll be amazing to come back here and talk to people who understand. 'Cause you guys rock :D

How long from when your case is complete does it take to get an interview? My husband (He's the beneficiary) is thinking of having me just move over there and forget the rest of the process.

I think the interview date depends on the location and if it is a high demand place. Also, if you get a case complete toward the end of a month, you should get an interview date soon after.

You're almost there. If you haven't gotten a June interview date, then July for sure. Can you hold on a couple of more months? We are just about half way thru May already.

Aw, thank you! ^_^ So nice of you to refer to me as a voice of reason, I was just telling my husband tonight how naive I am with this whole "why can't we all just get along" attitude :lol:

I know I'll be around for a while even after the visa process is done. After spending so much time here and bonding with people through such an emotional process, I just can't imagine either my husband or I will suddenly stop checking in. I've been transitioning between jobs, which is what's kept me mostly off the site for the past couple of weeks, but I still read every NVC post through email alerts. And once my new company isn't training me for 7+ hours per day I'll be back to my old VJ shenanigans :D

I'm glad to see you're almost done with NVC, congrats :) It's such a relief to have everything submitted, isn't it? I hope you get a speedy case complete. I bet you'll be just in time for the next round of interview scheduling!

Just realized your interview is Monday. Woot woot!! Exciting!!!

:dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing: Interview Scheduled today!!!! JUNE 25th!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Congrats!!!!!!

Does anyone know if NVC is the one schedules the interview date or does all our paperwork have to be sent to the embassy and then they're the ones who schedule it?

Just wondering...
