Anyone else getting impatient waiting on their Joint Sponsor getting their forms and documents together? I'm dying to get the AOS and IV packet sent to the NVC, but my Dad hasn't finished getting his stuff ready yet. :clock:

I want so bad to just phone him and be like, "Have you got any idea how much I need you to JUST GET IT DONE?!" but I know he has his own life to deal with, working full time as a nurse and working on his BSN part time.

I also kind of feel like its my fault a bit, I should have asked him to start getting his Joint Sponsor stuff together the moment we got the NOA2. He could have at least filled in the forms and gotten the documents ready, then sign and date just before sending. We'd probably be well on our way to a case complete by now. :(

I know I have been quite impatient with my joint sponsor... on the inside.. I would never pressure her to get me the paperwork. It was rather annoying waiting for a whole month for her to get everything to me. The worst part was I sent an email basically with a step by step guide on what to do and a checklist with the documents I needed. She still sent me wrong documents and only sent me something every couple of weeks. She also tried to tell me what was required and what she didn't need to give me. They don't understand that the NVC isn't going to care what you think is ok to send, they want the correct documents or it won't get through the process. Sorry for ranting but dealing with someone who doesn't understand and don't care enough to really read anything you send them is not fun.

Hmm.. We obviously all have a desire for more information than the average person (or we wouldn't be here), but sometimes it is really helpful and even necessary for me to take a step back from both this site, but the whole process, and simply let things happen as they are anyway without my constant concern or involvement.

This won't be a popular opinion here, but when calling NVC every few hours with no different result only makes you more unhappy, that is your sign that you're making things worse on yourself. Calling once a day, or once every 2-3 days, won't change the end result but hopefully will calm the exposed nerve that is never allowed to heal by a constant expectation for information and updates that won't come.

I agree with this. I've been waiting for a case number. According to the NVC Shortcuts, they suggest that I call NVC often until getting a case number. Well, I kind of disagree with them. I stopped calling NVC because it usually takes 30 days for them to issue a case number. Plus I won't be able to do anything 4-7 more days until DS-261 is ready.

However, I realize some K-3 visa filers got their case numbers on the day NVC received their cases. There are exceptions to every rule.

I can totally relate, eventhough I have no right to be impatient with our new joint sponsor. She only found out we were planning a move a week and a half ago, so she hasn't had much time to get things ready. But I'm still feeling impatient since although she has been on this journey only for 1,5 weeks, we've been on this journey for over a year now. I know we are incredibly lucky to have her as our joint sponsor since our original joint sponsor turned her back at us, so I just count my blessings and hope the new joint sponsor will get her stuff together soon :) Hope things work out for you soon!

IR1 took 520 days....

Hello Austin Canada, I am a november filer..and I just got my I130 approved today. I am also from NSC…so looking at your timeline i am "assuming", that it takes NSC to send your paperwork to NVC about 2-3 weeks and then 4 weeks for NVC to issue you a case number? Which would be we can submit out AOS and IV packets in early-to- middle july, right?

hi everyone.

I have a question.
I have read where people say IV scanned in the NVC system and AOS scanned in the NVC system.

How and where can i go and check that ?

I have sent my documents includiing AOS and civil documents to NVC in the last part of april. Still waiting for any response from them but not sure how do people check that the files are scanned in the system?

Thank you

You will have to call the NVC and verify it with a representative. :)

Man I really needed a June interview. I don't want to quit my job before we have the interview just in case. But I need to quit by the end of June to give a month notice (we have the month of July off and I don't want to work the month of August).

NVC is screwing up my life. :ranting::clock:

I've been thinking this as I followed this thread lately, too. There's so much negativity here recently and much of it comes from obsessive phone calls with long wait times and less-than-charming operators. I don't personally understand why multiple calls per day is a good use of time, simply because knowing a status for example 6 hours sooner than you might've won't make any difference to your case processing. Obviously it's a personal decision, but I feel bad for everyone involved -- both on our end and NVC's. This isn't pleasant for anyone.

I know NVC is staffed by call center personnel who are paid to provide customer service, but they aren't government employees. I can't imagine they have rock star salaries and they probably get treated like garbage all day. Hasn't anyone on this thread worked in customer service? Even if the job tasks are easy, it's challenging dealing with people all day. It's exhausting and frustrating. They're humans and imperfect just like the rest of us. They're also not responsible for the case processing decisions (i.e., reviews and checklists) driving everyone insane. I've spoken to all the operators who have been named here and have never had a bad experience, so to see them essentially being bullied in absentia is a little unsettling. I kind of wish I'd had a bad experience at some point just so I could know where all the negative comments have come from. They're paid to do their jobs to certain expectations, yes, but I personally feel a responsibility to be a good customer to the people serving me. I've never felt someone being nasty to me was justification for being unpleasant in return, though I'm keenly aware that others will feel differently. Perhaps if folks made fewer superfluous phone calls, the operators would be less overwhelmed, their quality of life would improve, they would be happier while serving their customers, and hold times would go down.

I know VJ is an awesome place to vent and commiserate. I'm really thankful for that, and that's why I hesitated to volunteer my own unpopular opinion above. I just wanted to maybe add some perspective, because I feel things have become a bit more hostile than usual. I really wish all the best for everyone waiting here. I know the hell we've all gone through and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope all of you get the news you're waiting for soon.

You make a very good point. I am sure its a tough job fielding phone calls all day and not being able to do anything to help usrea with our case other than just reading case status to us. I am doing my best not to call about my files that physically arrived yesterday at NVC. I am probably going to call Friday. I think the problem is that we all feel helpless and the only thing we can do is call. I even am not so sure that the calls from my congressman's office to USCIS actually made a difference. The whole system needs changed. One place to process from start to finish. It would make it easier for everyone.

Who's judging? I'm in this process with everyone else. I understand the lure and addictiveness of constantly being able to ask someone what's happening.

If I didn't consciously tell myself 'no' I would be constantly calling and constantly upset by the disappointment of no new information. Just feel bad for us as a whole and wanted to offer my perspective on how I handle the pressure of the constant questions - "what's happening??" and "when will I be with the person I love??"

I totally agree with you, as it is stressful! But I understand people that call constantly!

I got this email from my lawyer and I am so upset (I am crying right now) I just want to confirm with you guys. Have you had any experience with this kind of answer from NVC.

I spoke with the NVC and they confirmed that they do not have your request to register for electronic filing in their system and that they do not have the affidavit of support in their system either. Soky’s request yesterday was submitted using her email address, but the original contact we received from the NVC came to my email address and both your email addresses, so it is possible that they might not recognize it coming from her email. So I will be sending them another request from my email address. The person I spoke with confirmed that making more than one request should not be a problem.

We then need to wait for them to register us based on either Soky’s email or my email. Then we can resend the Affidavit of Support.

Please Help! if this is true we are going to be so behind.....

Could it possibly be because your initial ENROLL email was not confirmed yet? I see from your signature that it was sent on April 21. I sent mine on April 18 and still have not received my confirmation either. I know another EP filer who sent their ENROLL email on April 15 and received the confirmation on May 12. Based on that information I think my confirmation (and yours) should be coming by next week.
