First off, thanks for the support Koekoe and LifeOnHold!

Austin, my certificate is from the Calgary Police Service/RCMP but is not small like you describe, it's a full page document.

It essentially states that the search based on my name/birthdate has not disclosed a record of criminal convictions in Canada's National Repository for criminal records, nor in Calgary's local indices and the Alberta Court indices.

When I went into the Police office, they 'knew' exactly what form I had to fill out for the purposes of immigration, and actually sent me to another/larger Center for filing the request form, so why is mine different than yours??

They apparently misplaced our joint-sponsor's proof of citizenship, everything is possible with them... we would have had CC already if they were caring a bit more about the files. Now I regret not to have asked for a supervisor review, we just sent another copy. Best of luck!

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

That'll very likely be an issue. Take etrangais' advice. Or, is there some way you can do a 'Save As...' option and see if it doesn't carry over the security protections? Or, try printing to PDF again and see if that works. Otherwise, yeah, you'll likely have to print and re-scan.

The bar-coded cover sheet is available immediately upon paying the bill. A few years ago (when I was going through the process), yes, the bar-coded cover sheet was only available AFTER it showed as paid, but that changed.

Question, if the bar code is available right after paying the bill and some people send both the AOS and IV in together does this mean that the one Bar code is good for both or do you have to send the other one if there is another one later? Me a tiny bit confused and my teeth (dentist appt in morning) are killing me from a fall. :( Thank your Saylin-ness. :D(F)(L)(F) Your Empress, your Highness, your Majestyness. ;)

Ok, so now I'm officially sad...

NVC just told me that the only thing they're missing is... the Police Certificate... :girlwerewolf2xn:

It is the last page of my IV package!, has my NVC case number printed on it, the gal was very friendly and we discussed what I had sent/ what was on the certificate as I have a copy right here to refer to... she said that sounded right...

'So where do we go from here?' I asked. She said she can have the file pulled and looked at again, but if they can't find it I'll have to provide another.

I asked about sending another copy and she said it's up to me.

Here in Canada, it's pretty simple, the RCMP/ police stations have the forms to fill out, listing that we need this for Immigration, the search is local and Canada-wide.

I'm now crushed, as I was hoping for CC tonight or at least this week. So now I'm into believing there will be no interview until July for sure :crying::crying::crying:

Should I send another copy?? If I send it and in the meantime they approve my case, will sending this cause a delay when they then try to match it up with my file? :clock:

IDIOTS! I'll be praying they find it right where you put it. God in heaven, they need to do something about this. :(

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone who has either been given their Case #, Case Complete or interview dates. I want you all to

know how very happy I am for everyone. I'm in a bit of pain from a fall, long to explain but will be seeing a dentist tomorrow and am rushing to catch up. Hopefully I can catch up for tomorrows posts. Much love and hugs to you all praying all goes well for all of us. :)(F)(L)(F)

Yes...Petitioner fills out I-864 even if income requirements are not met

The Joint Sponsor will fill out I-864 also.

If the Joint Sponsor needs to use their spouse then the spouse would fill out I-864-A

If the Joint Sponsor crosses the income threshold on their own then they just need

W-2s to distinguish their income on the Federal Tax Return or Transcript.

WOW thank you thought so but was hesitant, tytytytytytytytytyty :)(F)(L)(F) God bless you. :D

Night everyone sleep tight ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ;)

Sorry not much help :(. Hope it gets all sorted quickly. NVC workers are picky.. or don't read their own instructions sometimes it seems...

Thank you for helping anyway! I greatly appreciate it. I figured that since my case isn't exactly straightforward, I would probably get a checklist for something... sadly I was right!

You are welcome! Hope it will get sorted quickly for you. I think you asked about the other evidence, if I were you, I would send along what is new (maybe proof of relationship?) and would write a letter listing all the other documents (IRS transcripts etc) and stating that they were sent in the initial package. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Okay, thank you! The letter is a very good idea. I sent a ton of extra proof of relationship with my IV package, because I started worrying about the consulate in Algeria potentially operating like other consulates in MENA countries, refusing to look at additional evidence at the interview ...

So even if your not in the USA or working if living in the USA you have to fill out the I-864? I can't work because I'm taking care of my parents and they will be my husbands sponsor. Hummmmm I didn't know I had to fill it in, thought it was just my parents that are both going to sponsor him or us what ever it's supposed to be. Just trying to find out before so I wont make any mistakes. Going on 13 months for me so don't want to be the reason for more delays. :) Ty. Hope someone can help us out. (F) (F)

Hello Soloenta, yes the petitioner is always required to submit an I-864, because the petitioner is the main sponsor for the beneficiary even when a joint sponsor is required. Just keep in mind that if you'll be listing the same principal residence in the US for you and your parents, you will need to do an I-864 for you and an I-864A for your parents, because all of you would be counted as "household members." Make sure to include them in your household size (which applies to part 5 and part 6 on the I-864 form.)

If you have a different principal residence from your parents, file an I-864 for you, one for the main joint sponsor, and an I-864A for the other parent. That's how I did my paperwork originally, becuase I had misunderstood the instructions.

Very best of luck to you!

Haha, same happened to us! For us they accepted my birth certificate after a supervisor review and generated an updated checklist. Was not expecting an approval on that birth certificate, so kind of sad that I spend over 150 dollars to get them a different version with apostilles.. sigh!

Yes Soloenta, you're the petitioner and will always be a sponsor for your the immigrant your sponsoring for ;). Funny, me and my wife were talking about Aliens last night.. (She brought it up), and I responded to her "I'm an alien according to the USA"

Every little step forward is worth celebrating!

It's a mystery why they put people in AP and it terrifies me also. After all this to be put in AP is just beyond cruel and unusual punishments for the crime of falling in love with a person from another country. :( Let's pray this doesn't happen to any of us. (F) (F)

I'm just assuming it will. I paid my AOS and IV fees so were just waiting for the DS260 to be available. I'm only working part time and I have a joint sponsor so I'm going to go back to the UAE with my husband until his interview. On the UAE embassy website it says "most immigrant petitions go into administrative processing" so I'm just assuming it's going to happen and hell will freeze before I spend an unknown amount of time away from him.

They're idiots. *sigh*

I'm so sick of this process. I hope it doesn't take the entire 2 weeks for them to review the one stupid paper I sent. This is ridiculous.

Wouldn't it make sense to have separate depts. for initial packages and for checklist packages? I am sick of calling everyday and dealing with the nasty attitudes and misinformation. I am just as sick of calling as they are having to answer me.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU !!!!

Yes better to be safe than sorry for sure with these evil ones.

I don't know why those with cases in Egypt don't post when they get interviews, might be because it takes so long to get one.

Thank you will be helpful if you let us (me ;) ) know when you get an interview.

Not sure about Alexandria to be honest. I've read so much I think I read you have to request it but not completely sure about that.

Found this link to check on interview dates looks it's if you already have one but good link to save.

http://egypt.usembassy.gov/consular/iv8.html

Looked for information on Alexandria but found nothing. :(

Is this available for all embassies? I've been searching like a mad woman looking for this on the Abu Dhabi website.
