Hello Everyone,

So I came across another thing I want to be certain I do correctly. I noticed on my bar coded cover letter for IV packet it shows as the mailing address is

National Visa Center

Attn. CMR

31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

After starting Ds260 it advises to mail packet to

National Visa Center

Attn: CMR/DR

31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

Shall I assume that the bar-code sheet is a generic sheet sent out to everyone just with the specific case number and that I should mail it to the second address as directed on ds260?

I remember this little detail was debated either on last month's thread or the one before. If this wasn't confusing enough, DOS website also tells you to send docs to "ATTN: DR".

If I remember correctly, someone asked which one is correct and NVC rep said it did not make any difference. I mailed my packet to the address shown in my bar-coded cover sheet without any issues. Other members might chime in as well.

I printed a second copy of the bar coded cover sheet to hand to the FedEx shipper....

Double check the address once it is entered, some shipping systems default to a slightly different address.

Here is my straight fwd question about AOS:

My Wife (USC who has 0 income in 2013 and currently living in India with me) and her father(LPR who is living in US) is a joint sponsor. So we are going to submit my wife/petitioner I864 and Joint sponsor I864...

Could you guys let me know is it correct or not and is there any specific instructions to fill I864 ??? or do we need to fill any other form like I864A ?? as both will be in same house when return to US.

My spouse is in india and never came to US,So we don't have joint sponser .SO I just need to prepare below documents or anything else is required?

Also I am not able to open the sample cover letter which is provided in WIKI .It is throwing an error,DO anyone have any other sample of cover letter?

Don't forget to put the Bar-Code cover Sheet on top of everything including the Cover letter. Good luck.

I just had a copy notarized... and in India they stamped PCC Endorsement in Passport..

I have no idea what to do. I emailed NVC for Consulate Change first on 31st March then again on 8th April. One of the good representatives that day said they should have replied by now so she said she will put a request for supervisor's review. Now when I called yesterday the woman said I should wait.

I am panicking honestly why are they not replying to my emails? There is no other way of changing the Consulate what should I do? :( :(

You or your husband can't call the consulate or Embassy your interview will be and ask them? I know you can do that in Egypt.

As everyone told me I have to call them and provide my email adress as soon as I have my case number ,But here you mentioned that you go a head and enroll for email .How did you have done it by yourself.?

This is what other people were talking about today. There is a difference between enrolling for E(lectronic)P(rocessing) and calling to provide your email addresses to NVC for updates. I did both.

So little update from here too. Finally our name change for me went thru since September even other countries work slow ordered new passport and ID card as well as the PCC for Germany.

Then later tonight CEAC changed to the Triangle Of Doom let's see hoe long it will take

I appreciate your reply! If you plan to have a family member as a joint sponser, make sure to call NVC and ask if they do or do not need to be included in the household size on your I-864! Since you're abroad and not currently living with them.

So even if your not in the USA or working if living in the USA you have to fill out the I-864? I can't work because I'm taking care of my parents and they will be my husbands sponsor. Hummmmm I didn't know I had to fill it in, thought it was just my parents that are both going to sponsor him or us what ever it's supposed to be. Just trying to find out before so I wont make any mistakes. Going on 13 months for me so don't want to be the reason for more delays. Ty. Hope someone can help us out. (F)

Austin, my certificate is from the Calgary Police Service/RCMP but is not small like you describe, it's a full page document.

It essentially states that the search based on my name/birthdate has not disclosed a record of criminal convictions in Canada's National Repository for criminal records, nor in Calgary's local indices and the Alberta Court indices.

When I went into the Police office, they 'knew' exactly what form I had to fill out for the purposes of immigration, and actually sent me to another/larger Center for filing the request form, so why is mine different than yours??

Re: all of this discussion - the Vancouver Police Department (which I had to go to since I live in the city of Vancouver and not "Greater Vancouver" which is served by the RCMP) gave me the full sheet police check too. I hope it will work. If I get a checklist, though, apparently I can pay more money and get the same certificate Austin got by going through www.commissionaires.ca to find a commissionaires office. If they give me any issues with the certificate I have I'll just go get the other kind. Same check, different printout.

Yes...Petitioner fills out I-864 even if income requirements are not met

The Joint Sponsor will fill out I-864 also.

If the Joint Sponsor needs to use their spouse then the spouse would fill out I-864-A

If the Joint Sponsor crosses the income threshold on their own then they just need

W-2s to distinguish their income on the Federal Tax Return or Transcript.

Copy paste the part with greek letters on google and you will see the translation, if there is nothing in the next page asking for smtg specific, it is likely just a false checklist. We received one yesterday, asking for a response to a checklist (already sent and received at NVC), we called and the IV package was accepted on Friday. Hope this helps, good luck at work!

ok, this one is good !!

So they did have another supervisor look at my file but I have no idea why... that is what generated another checklist. The mail still hasn't been reviewed so these people are Tessa started out yelling at me but then realized that I was genuinely confused. She had to read back all the way to May 1st. Then she was really confused !! She actually apologized for being mean and said I was given the wrong info by the beotch that I talked to 2 hours ago. Ignore the checklist. GOODNESSSSSSSSS
