Hey guys - I called the NVC today and they confirmed that they received my AOS packet on 5/1 and my IV packet on 5/8, but I have not heard anything, no checklist (real or fake). Should I be worried???

No, we had no checklists and it took about 2 weeks for them to accept both packets from the time they were scanned into the system. Patience and good luck! :)

i ask my CO and he said i can't accompany to my parents at their interview.

have a nice trip my friend .

I leave on May 20. I am happy so happy for You that you can go with them to the interview.

I am looking forward to a wonderful reunion. I last saw them in March of 2013......

Question for everyone who already filled out the DS-260: what did you normally put in the section where it asks what occupation your spouse intends to work in the U.S.? Did you put a concrete answer, or "not known at this time"? My wife is on the fence and doesn't really know if she wants to be a stay at home mom with our daughter, or continue on in the medical profession that she's certified to work in in Europe. What does everyone suggest?

I put what I 'currently' do, although I'm not certain what sort of job I'll be able to find, nor if I'll choose to do what I have been doing for the last 24 yrs... could be time for a change:)

Does the $165 extortion fee have to be drawn from a us acct like the AOS and IV fees?

Hey guys, just stopping by to share the good news. We just got our Case Number and IIN today. Was going to call tomorrow but was feeling dangerous so I called today and they had just uploaded to the system today. It took 27 days after case received. :dancing:

I have read some comments that people have submitted the AOS before they had confirmation of payment so they could not have sent in a cover sheet-- I waited until I could print my cover sheet and sent it in. there is a cover sheet available to be printed with a barcode after the payment is cleared. If I was to do it again I would do it the same way and attaché the barcoded cover page--

but you may get other opinions stating that the faster you send it in the better. with or without the cover page

The cover page was available the moment we paid the fee... we didn't have to wait.

We did send our documents as soon as we paid even though our fees hadn't yet cleared the bank or showed up as paid on the CEAC site.

Saylin, I'm preparing my AOS documents to be emailed for EP. Since you are the expert on PDF stuff I thought I should ask you. I just realized the Tax transcripts that the joint sponsor sent me are security protected. It will not let me remove the security protection in settings even though I know the password.

Do you think there is any way around this? I remember reading that the NVC will not accept documents that are security protected.

That'll very likely be an issue. Take etrangais' advice. Or, is there some way you can do a 'Save As...' option and see if it doesn't carry over the security protections? Or, try printing to PDF again and see if that works. Otherwise, yeah, you'll likely have to print and re-scan.

The bar-coded cover sheet is available immediately upon paying the bill. A few years ago (when I was going through the process), yes, the bar-coded cover sheet was only available AFTER it showed as paid, but that changed.

I have a question that is probably silly but I would rather be safe than sorry...working on final steps of DS230 to input into DS260 packet. I know this is about the beneficiary so when it wants the divorce papers in the packet, is this JUST the beneficiary divorce papers or do they want the petitioners as well? (I already submitted them with the I-130 but want to make sure before mailing the packet :( ). Congrats to those getting interviews!! Can't wait to get to that point.

You are correct, IV packet is all about the beneficiary. Petitioner does not need to send divorce certificate again.

First, when everyone used to comment about how often they check the payment portal I was thinking why would anyone be checking it so many times a day! But now that I have a case number, I get it. Even though I know nothing is going to change in the span of 5 minutes, but I keep checking. Lol

I am looking over my AOS packet for the 100 time today and keep obsessing over not making a single mistake. I have a question about that. For my the sponsor part 6, question 5, it asks for current individual annual income, so do I just multiple how much she makes in 40 hours and multiple that total by 52 weeks? So do I just put that total because that's before taxes or anything is deducted.

Yes, it is how much your sponsor makes in a year at her current hourly wage, so hourly wage multiplied by 40 (full time worker), then multiplied by 52 sounds correct. You do not need to deduct for taxes.

03/20/14 - AOS status "PAID" for wife
03/26/14 - AOS status "PAID" for daughter
03/26/14 - AOS packets sent
03/28/14 - IV available and paid for both wife and daughter (in process)
04/01/14 - IV shows "PAID", DS-260 available
04/05/14 - DS-260 complete and submitted
04/07/14 - Civil docs arrived via DHL from my wife. IV packets sent (Finally!!)
04/14/14 - False checklist for IV packet (wife and daughter)
04/15/14 - Confirmed AOS approved (did not ask for specific approval date) - IV packets in system

04/25/14 - CASE COMPLETE (wife and daughter) :dance:

04/30/14 - Interview scheduled (yay!!)

05/02/14 - Received e-mail with P4 letters

05/07/14 - NVC shipped case files to Lima Embassy via DHL. CEAC status "In transit"

05/09/14 - DHL delivered case files to Embassy. CEAC status "Ready"

06/09/14 - Medical Exam. 4pm appointment

06/24/14 - Interview appointment @8am Visa approved!!! Bananeyessss.gifBananezorro.gif

06/25/14 - CEAC status "Issued"

06/28/14 - Visa in hand
