Gosh it's been 2 days we are trying to call NVC and we can't get through... i don't even know if our IV package has been accepted, we received last night what looks like a fake ckecklist (with a message in Greek - NVC professionalism - saying to send the financial evidence). Right now it's been one hour I am redialing, so annoying. Is it even possible to work seriously and have an immigrant visa pending? I feel like even my thesis is on hold :-(

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

Ok, sounds good! Thank you. I hope it's something very simple for you. :)

Thank you! Hopefully I can give you an idea of what to look out for when you send your AOS, and those in similar situations living abroad with their spouses.

How can you have a certified copy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport? I mean you just photocopy it...I don't understand how the photocopy would be certified? Or am I missing something? And also police clearance stamp in passport? I have never heard of this before.

I just had a copy notarized... and in India they stamped PCC Endorsement in Passport..

I have no idea what to do. I emailed NVC for Consulate Change first on 31st March then again on 8th April. One of the good representatives that day said they should have replied by now so she said she will put a request for supervisor's review. Now when I called yesterday the woman said I should wait.

I am panicking honestly why are they not replying to my emails? There is no other way of changing the Consulate what should I do? :( :( :( :(

Hey guys,

While doing EP, is it ok if we scanned photocopies of all the docs? Or do they have to be all originals?

I would think scanning copies would be fine, and of course you realize you'll have to get your hands on those originals that you've ordered (or the ones currently lost in space somewhere  ) before the interview :luv:

My spouse is in india and never came to US,So we don't have joint sponser

[...]

I'm not sure why you've tied these two together...as they're not dependent on each other. Your joint sponsor can be anyone from the US.

I just called up the NVC... they said my CASE WAS COMPLETED :D on the 9th... I will get my email today or tomorrow !! I am so excited!

So from what I understand they do batches of emails.... once a week?

Congratulations!!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

you should hear something today. They reviewed files scanned on the 24th yesterday.

LifeOnHold reported they accepted their DS260 and IV docs yesterday. They were scanned in on the 24th.

Good luck

Gosh I hope so!

I'll call tonight, thanks!

My wife teaches school close to there.

I am flying over there the last of the month. We are going to tour Finland for our first wedding anniversary. We are hoping for a CC this week and possibly a June interview. Our corrected checklist has been there since April 17th.

It is indeed a small world :) Hope you get your CC this week and a June interview!

IR1 took 520 days....

Okay I have an update on the checklist: I called back to see if I could get any more information, and I believe I spoke with Cindy, who was so helpful; she read the checklist to me.

Here's what happened: I provided and I-864 for myself, an I-864 for my dad (joint sponsor), and an I-864A for my mom (household member). I needed a joint sponsor because I'm living abroad with my husband and I'm not authorized to work in his country, thus I have no income. I provided a statement explaining the situation. I had a note in my cover letter and sticky notes saying "see statement" on my I-864.

Well, the checklist was asking me to correct my I-864 to include my parents as "household members." I did not put them as household members because I'm living abroad with my husband, and therefore not living with my family. On my dad's I-864, I listed everyone in family's household including myself and my husband, the intending immigrant, but not on mine.

Cindy told me to send an email to the NVC explaining that I live abroad and that my parents are not my household members right now. Should I also have my dad fedex the same letter with the bar-coded coversheet from the checklist? Would they review it faster?

Where it gets tricky is that on my parents' most recent tax transcript from 2012 (they filed an extension for 2013), I was listed as a dependent. Does that make a difference?

I appreciate any advice that you can give me.

IV package sent this morning! Now we get to wait! Again!

Good for you! And this must be one of the worst waits - the last ones will be the worst for me, I think! So close to the finish line! :clock:

I GOT A CASE NUMBER!!!! :):)

Yay for you! It's so exciting to actually feel like things are happening finally!

So I called NVC at 7:02am and was on hold for 40 mins, but thank God I finally have a case number. I was literally falling asleep and now I am shaking with excitement and million things are running through my head.

Anyway, just to confirm. When i do the enroll email, do I do it now or wait? The lady I spoke with said to wait and I should get something at the end of the week, but I don't know if I believe her. Anyway, I went ahead and follow what Saylin outlined for enrolling an email. A few minutes later I got "out if office auto-reply", does that mean it went through or should I resubmit my enroll email?

Thanks in advance :)

It seems like the "out of office reply" means that the email got through and is now in the queue to be answered! :dancing:

Is your timeline updated?

I couldn't help it .. I have turned in to Etrangais today...

This operator I just talked to... can't remember who she was...

Her: the operator yesterday never should have requested a supervisor review.

Me: She was confused as to why they were reviewing it again yesterday without the new mail. It was already reviewed almost 2 weeks ago, They sent me a checklist for the Birth Cert already.

Her: ( nasty) They aren't going to review it again. You just have to wait . They didn't even look at your mail that is waiting...

Me: that isn't what I was told this morning. I was told it is being reviewed right now. Not just scanned in, its actually with someone.

Her: you just have to wait...

Me: yea yea thanks ( click)

I called around 10:00 AM: nothing new.

Right now I'm really fighting the urge to call again! God this is turning me into a maniac!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try my best to hold off at least until 05:00 PM!!!!!!!!!!!!
