Oh wow. So if doesn't apply do I just call them up and bring it to their attention and then cancel it or something? I'm new to the whole checklist thing, obviously.

I got checklisted for a Police Certificate.. Its not required for Costa Rica at the NVC. I just called and asked for a supervisor review and it was removed a day later even though they tell you that the review takes up to 30 days !! The reviewers obviously don't know all the rules for each country. If that is all you get checklisted for, you should get a case complete when they remove it.

That is so strange... I had mail there from the 15th and it was looked at a week and a half ago. It sucks because if you complain, they will tell you that they have 30 days.

my husband calls there twice a week, he never complains and only asks about updates.

from the first call their version was "30 business days"

my patience is about to disappear, esp when i see people's timelines in here.

Yes, we would have been able to do so if the US citizen is a residence of the UK for at least 6 months.. Should have gone for it really.. Would have been there by Sep/Oct last year! We can't change the past though!

You're right! You can't change the past so there is no sense in thinking about it. :no:

I could have applied for a fiance visa and that would have been faster. Well, I thought it would be faster if we got married and applied for a IR1/CR1 visa. :bonk: It's unfortunate, but that's life. :wacko:

Since I've been not so lucky in this process, I'm hoping I've used up all my bad luck so I'll finish the NVC stage without a single checklist. :yes:

Hey, how did you find out that the police certificate is not required for your country at the NVC stage? Is there a list of countries somewhere?

Just in case you're wondering, a police certificate IS required for Mexico.

Ugh I hate this waiting. So close to being done with all this USCIS/NVC B.S.!!! I just want to know when my interview date is, so that I can start making plans and get my life out of limbo. Good luck to all those waiting for Case #'s, case completes and Interview dates and interviews. Hopefully we will all be over with this very very soon and be reunited with our loved ones. You include false checklists in spreadsheet? or only real? It seems that more than half of the people get checklists.

No, only real ones. Including false checklists on the spreadsheet would make no sense as it has no impact on time frames.
