Ds260 please help!

Here's a few things I came across and need some clarification please. In family information : spouse section it asks current spouse details and spouses address and if spouse is immigrating to us with you or at a later date? I just want to confirm I am filing this for my husband, I am the petitioner so these questions are related to my self his wife. Since I am already here in the us and petitioning for him to come it will be no to both answers correct. Or do I have it backwards should I be filling his out and are the questions about spouse regarding my husband the beneficiary. Sorry for any confusion I think I'm just confusing the hell out of myself lol.

Everything on the DS-260 is from the beneficiary's perspective. If you are the petitioner and spouse you will not be immigrating or following at a later date because you are already in the US.

Just called NVC last night and we have our case number and IIN assigned. Yey!! Haven't updated our email address though, is that necesary or the one in the file is fine?

Hope form DS261 will be available by Monday

Congrats! I'm surprised they didn't ask you for the email address of the beneficiary, at least they did for me. You can call and give it to them over the phone, so that both of you receive the emails to come.

Thank you!!! Unfortunately I think I'll be holding on a little longer. It's crazy to me that people had to wait 9-11 months just at the USCIS stage before moving on to the NVC stage. I'm at 9 months now with the entire process and I'm pretty much certifiably insane. Not sure how I even have friends who can stand me.

Ok. When you are filling in the DS260, you are filling it in as though you were the applicant/beneficiary. So any questions like that, think about it as though you were him.

So you are the spouse, and you are already a USC or LPR so you are not immigrating to the US at all. So no, to both. Since they use this same form for all immigrant visa applicants, those questions refer to, say, a parent petitioning his married son, whose wife will either be immigrating with him, or will follow to immigrate later.

I know it's hard to have to sort of "play-act" when you're filling in these forms, but that's the best way to make sense of them!

This was about the most confusing part for me too! My wife (sponsor) is here in Canada with me, but we already have a US address where we'll be living so do we put her current Canadian address, or soon to be US address? Also, my wife will be moving to the USA with me, but not immigrating as she is a US citizen, she's just moving back home so do I say no to that question?

It's crazy that the weekends don't mean the same thing anymore. Every weekend we loose 2 days to end this process.

I called NVC to check on my AOS package that was checked in the system on 4/24. No update.

Hubby sent police record on Friday will be here Monday. IV documents will be sent express mail Monday.

Fingers crossed to have a case complete by June 1st.

I have a question, though I'm not sure this thread is the right venue:

After receiving the visas and the brown envelope. It is understood that derivatives (spouse and kids) can only enter with or soon after the principal applicant. That much is clear. What if, say, the derivative spouse is to delay entry by a few weeks (but within the issued visa validity), would he/she require additional documentation other than the passport/visa?

I know there is a follow-to-join procedure, but I'm not eager to go down that road.
