I've heard that you can call in and ask them to "unlock" it so you can correct something. Worth a shot!

I'm thinking I'll send in copies of both passports, since I filled in the i130 with the old one... just for continuity.

Do you need a police clearance for the other country? If you were there more than 6mo, I think you're supposed to have one.

I'd start calling around Wednesday of next week - as others have said, it seems to be taking pretty much exactly a month after receipt.

Also, I'm pretty thrilled to report that I got to fill in a form today! Choice of agent form was available and I appointed myself and sent that sucker off! Whee! :D

It was 2004, I have foreigners permit of stay that we received in police. Is that enough? I don't know how will i obtain new one!!!

That's probably the reason. Looking at your signature, you didn't fill out a DS-261, so they must have sent some form with the I-130 electing themselves as agent, so once the file got to NVC, they were automatically selected as agent again.

Hey saylin,I have a lawyer ,so that mean I will get D261 filled automatically and I can pay AOS and VI fees together immediately I will get NVC number and Send both packeges together?

CEAC will be down tomorrow...

wooohooo they are going to fix all the glitches...

finally they have their IT people working

I hope so! Although that totally made me think of the comedy sketch (I think Jimmy Fallon may have played the character) "Your Company's computer guy"... "MOVE!" - Anyway, it made me giggle.

I sure can't imagine what it must have felt like before Saylin's guide... just filled in DS261 and now seeing the "Your case is in the process of termination...." message on the payment portal. Had I not known to expect it, I would have been FREAKING OUT! Even knowing that it's normal, it's a little disconcerting. You'd think they could develop a less nervewracking message.

You know, maybe something that said what was actually going on??? Maybe???? No, I know... that's just crazy talk.

Anyway, hope everyone's having an awesome day - Sun is shining here in BC (although last night it poured rain and our house leaked. A lot. I'm glad we're going to be getting out of here soon!)

Hey, do you think they might optimize their website for something other than IE, now that the government is telling us not to use it? I'd really like to not be forced to re-download such a crummy browser!

Are we supposed to receive 'case complete' email from NVC? or do we still need to a call to find out?

If possible I would want to avoid calling for NVC and staying on hold for long time to make a simple inquiry.

Important question is: from 'case complete' to 'interview scheduling' is there any benefit of calling for NVC to speed up the process?

Then you were lucky it worked. All US government websites are tested with IE only. They are guaranteed to work only with IE. If it works otherwise, happy day, but if not, then go back to IE. At my husband's work computers (he works for the FAA), there is only IE installed as a webs browser.

You can call to find out about a week sooner than you get the case complete email. You cannot speed up the process from Case complete to interview. The interview is scheduled whenever the consulate or embassy has an open spot.
