Also, I think "JOY" needs to change her name... lol

Here is my advise. Don't get upset and don't keep calling because you wont get a better answer and you'll get even more upset about not having an answer that you like.

I reviewed a lot of timelines and i knew how long it was taking. Since your case was shipped on 1st, give it 2 weeks. on day 15 - call NVC and check if they received it.

The day they receive it + 29/30 days -- call back to ask for a case number.

That's what i did. It didnt help calling every few days to ask for a case number because everyone on here was getting a case number exactly on day 30 after it was received at NVC. Hope this helps. It's a long process. Take it easy and good luck :)

Well, ya know, some border officers are pricks. I got one myself when I first started the process who denied me entry into the US. That was my second denial and last attempt as he told me that if I went to another border and tried with "another story" (???), I could get banned for life. I swear, some of them just like the power they have to control people's lives

At least the Canadian officers are nice :D Or maybe it's just cause I'm Canadian :lol:

AOS accepted!!! YEEEESSSS :dancing:

Now just waiting for IV to get approved. I swear if they checklist me for another marriage certificate I'm going to scream.

Going to call on Friday to see if IV has been approved. AOS checklist went very quickly (finally), hoping for similar treatment with IV checklist.

So after they scanned your second AOS into their system it only took 2 days for them to review it?

DS260 is about beneficiary hence you need to have her address. There is another column asking for 'where to send green card'. Your address can go there. Also, you will also be getting emails as choice of agent.

Thank you for the clarification.

There should already be a 1 in the box for yourself. Make sure you aren't counting yourself twice. Good luck!

That's what I thought too- but there's no number at all. It's blank and won't let me type a number in. I will just write the 1 in :) Thank you for answering!

The first AOS checklist response took two weeks to be reviewed. The second one took two days. Still waiting on my IV checklist response to be reviewed, which I sent at the same time as my AOS one.

Just realized someone asked what I just asked lol. 2 days?!?!?!??!?!? That's A-MAZING!!!! You'll get a Case Complete soon :)

I'm calling Friday to see if my revised AOS has at least been scanned and if my IV Package has been accepted. My heart will break if I get another checklist.

One more question. I paid the AOS fee today. I printed out the cover sheet with the bar code that should be put on top of the documents. But then I read something on the Wiki that made me think that I should wait until the payment goes through before I print the sheet with the bar code out. I mean, I don't see how the receipt would change at all since it's already been generated. Any feed back regarding that?

Ugh called back, it IS currently taking 4-5 weeks ust to receive a case, #######?! This process is never ending....!!!!!

Yea it took 5 weeks for me to get mine as well. I was just happy it was under the 30 business days. Following the timelines really helped me to know when to expect mine. So as soon as I knew they had received my file, I waited 2-3 weeks before calling again. And then I stalked them lol.

Thank you so much for your reply.. :)

Can I ask another question about employment? My husband (beneficiary) is self-employed but since nov. 2008 - jan 2014 he was unemployed. Whichis almost 6yrs. But right now he is back to work since feb. What should i put on the question ARE YOU PREVIOUSLY EMpLoYEd?

I remember when I completed our 260, it asked for previous employments for the past 10 years. If you see the same instructions in your form, then I think you should answer yes and complete up to 10 years back.

I think this is great advice!

There is no point in calling NVC if you just got NOA2. It takes at least two weeks for them to receive your case. :clock:

For the case number, some people have received case numbers when NVC received their cases. I think they applied for a K-3 visa and happened to be lucky. :star:

I guess if you didn't apply for a K-3 visa, there is few reason for calling NVC for a case number until at least three weeks have passed. :dead:

Of course, you're free to call NVC if you want to. I'm sure Joy and Arthur want to talk to ya! LOL
