Ah, good ol' Joy... I haven't had the pleasure of speaking with her yet... and since I usually call in the evening, maybe I won't *crossing fingers*!

I begin to suspect that they just pick a number at random! :idea:

I just called again to check and a nice lady answered this time.

She basically said that there was no way for them to tell what date the NVC is working on! She also mentioned that it does not take long for the review once the mail is picked up, the reviewer just reads through it and makes a decision!

This wait is killing me!!!!!!!!

I just called again to check and a nice lady answered this time.

She basically said that there was no way for them to tell what date the NVC is working on! She also mentioned that it does not take long for the review once the mail is picked up, the reviewer just reads through it and makes a decision!

This wait is killing me!!!!!!!!

I just received an email about a checklist: reqeusting my wife's birth certificate and marriage certificate and AOS. Is this a "real" checklist or a "wait for an approval" checklist? how do I tell?

Your best bet is to call NVC and ask them. Even if it is a "fake" checklist it is best to call them to confirm. Good luck!

Yeah, me too! According to Saylin's guide, the 261 and AOS payment usually take about a week... but I sure want to be the exception that proves the rule! We got our case #s on Monday... maybe tomorrow or Friday is our day?

So maybe good news? My esposo got an email that makes me think the AOS is finally accepted and that they are just waiting for IV checklist response. Since I sent them in together I'm hoping for a case complete.. next week? Maybe? PLEASE?!?!

Oh jeeze I hope so. I have a lawyer so I don't need to do the ds261. I just pay both fees and send it all in. I'm obsessively checking the payment portal.... It would be great to have a life that doesn't revolve around waiting to pay people haha

Got denied at POE!? :wow: Do you know why this person was denied at POE? :crying: I'm just curious. :huh:

As far as I know, they got denied due to some past criminal issues (on the beneficiary's part). The beneficiary (a Canadian by the way, trying to enter on a K1 visa) said they disclosed it at the embassy, so they knew about it, but the border officer claimed otherwise. So, he ended up getting married to the petitioner and then they filed for an IR-1/CR-1 visa. I believe they were put into AP after the interview, but not sure of the outcome as this was a couple of years ago.

To me, it just sounds like the border officer was a ####### and on a power trip, but obviously, we may not know the whole story.
