Two days ago I emailed NVC with a request for supervisor review (even though I've already contacted my senator, and called to request one- figured I'd cover all my bases) and my husband got an email back from them today saying they could only respond in English. Uhh, what? So I replied saying responding in English is perfectly fine as that's my native language!

No case number yet :(

Lady told me they're still putting it in the system since April 15! I don't know what kind of stupid system they have that it takes a month to put in some papers. I can do that an hour.

I wonder if these representatives have personally went through the immigration process or someone they know, they definitely would have a different perspective...I hope

I just got off the phone with my friend JOY!!!!!!!!

Nothing new, none of my packages have been reviewed yet! What the hell is going on with NVC lately!!!!!!!!!!!

She told me they are working on April 7th mail! yesterday I was told April 16, I guess everything goes backwards in NVC nowadays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joy's new name..... Ms. Nasty Pants liar.

My last package was scanned on the 18th and they looked at it on Monday. Its now Wednesday. You would think they would be on the 18th, 19th or 20th by now.

I just talked to Jean.. She was the same woman I talked to on last Thursday. She is from the philippines. She is soooo sweet. I had her laughing. I told her if she wanted, she could go down to the mailroom and pick out my package and give it to the reviewer.. She laughed and said there would be a riot over there if she did that. HA HA Well, I didn't expect anything new. I did ask if I could just bring the other birth cert to the interview but she said the embassy wants everything complete first. I told her the translation was in the package, they know its a friggin birth certificate and I know he was born ! LOL LOL All I have left is jokes because if I don't, I will cry. She gave me the 30 day line and I reminded her that she told me it would take 30 days for the supervisor to look at my file last Thursday but it only took 2 days... She said yes, that was very fast and she laughed.

Yes your right i was surprised beceause they told me my case arrived friday but it was approved on april 1st.

I actually got 2 emails one with the case number and invoice and another one stating it was ready for processing. Im not to sure because i did send them an email last week asking about my i-129f petiton. Maybe they input that petition number and replied with the case number from the i-130 petition.but when i called to verify it was the i-130 the lady read back to me my phone number and my email address so most likely uscis gives them all the information attached to the petitions

That's good to know. Thanks.

Hope you get a safe and speedy trek through this last mile.

We got approved April 14th. I later checked the website of uscis with my receipt number again and it showed that usicis has shipped the approved petition to NVC on April 18th. Which means Uscis shipped our petition 4 days after approval and nvc received it april 30th, aproximately 12days. So check uscis website with your receipt number and you will know when it was shipped to nvc. We got to know the petition arrived nvc thru a phone call, they didn't send us any mail of notice.

Wait till may 8 becz we need to give NVC 1 week and you can call them by may 9 or monday .They will let you know wheather they received your case or not..

Hey guys, wishing us all a speedy processing at NVC. I do have a concern and please if anyone knows or had experience about appreciate if could explain;

Is it true that even if your I-30 has been approved only at the time of the interview you will know for sure if you will get your green card?, like for instance if you overstayed your visa or any type of case of that nature, only at the time of the interview you will find out that you need to wait some period of time before you are able to go into the states. Is this really happening ??

Thanks so much for any response

I think we need more information to help you.. What exactly did your checklist letter ask for? Would you be able to copy and paste it here for us to read?

She should be able to contact her supervisor or HR at her work and request something. Just because she is only a cashier doesn't mean they can't give her anything. The letter only has to contain when she started working there, the salary amount, and if possible how long she will be working there (not a temporary job, as long as possible, etc. that sort of thing) Good luck!

During the I-130 stage, USCIS doesn't approve anything, per se. They just make sure the petitioner is eligible to petition and that neither of you are terrorists or anything.

For NVC, they don't approve anything either. They just collect paperwork and fees. This is the stage where the beneficiary actually applies for the visa.

It's at the interview where the CO goes over everything and decides to issue the visa or not. And even if it is approved, it's still ultimately up to the border officer at POE to let you in. They can always still deny you if they wish. It's extremely rare; I've only ever seen one case here on VJ in the nearly 4 years I've been here.

the USCIS only verifies that you are who you say you are and that you were free to marry. It basically grants you permission to have an interview.... Thats why its such a joke that it takes so long.
