Senate Republicans rejected opening debate on a Democratic bill to hike the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour.

The bill fell short of the 60 votes it needed to advance, 54-42.

CBO estimated in February that an hourly wage of $10.10 could result in the loss of about 500,000 jobs while lifting approximately 900,000 people out of poverty.

It is so sad that the U.S. does not expect it's citizens to be able to take care of themselves. Our minimum wage is low for a developed country.

At $11 an hour, Ontario will join Nunavut in having the highest minimum wage in Canada. Before this raise, Ontario was about the middle of the pack for provinces and territories, with minimum hourly rates ranging from $9.95 in Alberta to $11

That is all they have done in the past few years... The GnOP at its best! We can only hope in the coming elections they get rejected too... LOL
