Just received this case update through email:

"Your Case Status: Initial Review

On April 30, 2014, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent."

also got the same for I-131. I believe this is because my mailman might not have noticed the change in last name from my maiden name on my mailbox. However, I did receive the biometrics notice/appt date to this same mailbox.. guessing it was mailed after I added my married name to the box.

I know I need to ask them to resend but I wanted to ask here for advice on what may have been on those notices or if they were just the initial acceptance notices (don't have those yet, except for I-130 and I-765). also, I will be moving from this apartment in a week. should I wait to change the address until I physically move or change it now to my in-laws address temporary? just didn't know if it needed to be my physical residence... considering I'm moving I don't want to have them resend it here since it probably wouldn't arrive in time anyways.

another q: if we for some reason would get and RFE would that show online first?

advice appreciated!

Being able to get mail is vital in this process. I have some suggestions for getting it, but you are adding the possibility of 3 addresses and it is very confusing.

I know it is. I thought it was fine until USPS decided not to deliver the notices for I-131/I-485. I'm guessing it's because of the name change from my maiden to married name and that my mail man didn't see that, which apparently was ok with the biometrics notice (may have been a different mail man who knows)

we will have one address soon. It's just that I just finished up my last semester at school down in florida this week and will be heading north next week. I wanted to change my address for AOS but I was wondering if I have to wait until I physically move or if that address change is different than what I'm required to to within 10 days as part of my student visa.

to clarify, the address has been correct all along, except for the confusion regarding the last name.

Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283for live assistance."

I would call them and inquire and make sure the address is correct now. Also make friends with the mailman.

Then in 10 days or whatever I would do an address change online as well as over the phone and make friends with the mailman at your new place.

The problem is that you need them to resend the old notices and by the time they get to you you will have moved and USPS will not forward USCIS mail. I don't have a solution for that part. I would have held off on filing until the move was over.

Good luck.

Should you continue to experience issues receiving USCIS' mail then you should consider renting a PO box for a few months until the process is complete; they are relatively inexpensive.

Hi all,

i'm new member here, i need some help. I filed my Aos family based and EAD on oct 22,2014 and Chicago Lockbox receive on 24th of oct. 2014. After a month of filing I called customer service coz i never get any response from them, and finally i talked to Customer service representative ,she asked me information to track my application finally after an hour got my receipt number, but unfortunately USPS returned my notice as undeliverable so she advice me to change my address online coz as she said my address on their system is 1706 supposed to be 1708, i filed all my forms correct i think coz i have a copy so anyway i did change my address and got a mail notice for the change address after a week.My husband and I made infopass coz I'm so worried what kind of notice that is,so went to ASC office on Dec.12,2014,Luckily the staff in Helena MT office are so nice, We talked to IO told her we never get any notice, receipt or whatever to make the story short She let me in to have my biometrics even my bio appointment was On Nov. 19,2014.

On Feb 2nd 2015 got an update of my Ead saying "Card production" after a week got my EaD onhand finally.

Now I'm frustrated about my AOS coz it still on Undeliverable status online so here is my question.

1.What is the current processing time for AOS family based?

2.I request to send again all the notice included the receipt coz i said i never got any, should i request again because until now still nothing.

3. When to call again the customer service for follow up?

Hope somebody help me about this I am so worried, i'll appreciate any suggestion.Thank you.
