There's no harm in asking, tell him that. If he really wants you in America, he should try all means.

Absolutely

Seannah, your husband will eventually come round. He has to in order to be with you.

Hi eric, him and his family is doing fine, it's just my husband that dont want to try to ask for any help because he believes that no body will going to send copies of their w-2's. i don't know what to do to convince him to ask help,

isn't a denial enough to convince him to ask? How about the fact that he is wasting precious time by sending the package he wants to send.

I wouldn't care about revealing my income to someone, I'd be nervous about sponsoring someone that I would be responsible for...... for about 10 years. No thanks.....

He may not want to ask for help, but if he wants you in the U.S. badly enough, he's going to have to get a co-sponsor if he makes under the required amount. There's no shame in it; a lot of people have to get co-sponsors.

Otherwise, what's the point? You'll get an RFE, and then he'll have to waste some more time, and then if he still doesn't get a co-sponsor, you'll get denied. Waste of both of your time and money.

I would be very hesitant to give my SSN and W-2s to some of my relatives. Just can't trust them to be responsible with them because they are not careful people.

Someone having my SSN and W-2s can destroy my life.

Personally, I would never sign the I-864 for anyone who was not a relative. I would not sign it for my brother's wife. The reason is that even if they get divorced, I am liable to repay any means tested support that she may receive. I don't know her. I never met her, so how can I trust that she will not take means tested benefits if they break up?

Sorry, but your husband is wrong. He will get an RFE asking for a Joint Sponsor. You will not get a visa without a Joint Sponsor.

Best of luck to you. Hopefully you will find a Joint Sponsor.

I agree with Aaron, and also with Eric-Pris. It is true that the SSN and W2 contain information that may be stolen. However, you have to understand individual differences and culture, too. Like what aaron said, anybody who agrees to co-sponsor you will be liable to the government to pay for your support. I personally would not agree to co-sponsor somebody whom I have not known for a long time. Please understand that they may (or may not) think that you only want your husband for visa. But remember, we are from the third world country and in reality it happens, and it happens a lot.

The other reason has been mentioned to you by eric-pris. The W2 contains information about how much your husband is making. He may be embarrassed to let his relatives know that he is only making a small amount of money and yet would want to petition somebody that he would need to support. Please feel free to pm me if you have other questions. I am a US citizen through my husband.

Milimelo, he get payed twice a month and usually for the whole month he is making 2,800 dollars

So current income is $33,600 - that should be fine for CO. How long has he been in this job? Have husband ask for letter from employer (usually HR does those) stating his title, position hrs (full time/part time), when he started the job and the $$ he is earning per year. That, paystubs of the current calendar year, 3 yrs of taxes and his proof of citizenship should be fine for your interview.

co-sponsorship is not about sending ssn#,its about taking financial responsibility of a person new to America.

in case if couple get separated still co-sponsor is responsible for debts on beneficiary.

So its not an easy step to be taken by anybody for anybody.May be your husband knows about his relatives and he knows they will not agree to it.

I think you should leave it up to him whether he wants to be with you,if he is so then he will himself find ways to solve this issue.More than you he should be concerned about sponsorship.
