I thought liberals were full of compassion The last few minutes of this woman's life lets think about it. She was shot... then buried alive.. shovel after shovel of dirt being thrown on her face ... do you think she might of screamed in terror ... How long did she struggle ... Now liberals are concerned about a person taking too long to die. .. to pay for his crime.

If you say this about liberals, what's that to say about conservatives? That you guys are blood thirsty? That you only want to follow the law when it's convenient for you? It's wrong to abort a baby since life is soooo precious, but if you screw up, get the rope? Let's kill them all and let God sort them out.

I'll all about justice, but I'm not so eager to spill blood that just anyone will do.

Yeah, God forbid someone wants to believe that we're better than that sicko. The difference between you and me is this in a nutshell: You believe society should behave as sick as the offender. I do not. You believe that the Constitution which prohibits cruel and unusual punishment doesn't matter. I believe it does.

Carry on!

As I just said, the rules only come into play when it suits their purpose. Well, except for the 2nd. Nothing will change that.

Wow, new person to this section wanting to fart all over the tenured folks, like me.

I am sorry that I value life a lot more than the average American thinker, you.

I really believe that we should be a lot more careful when determining life or death. Especially since we know mistakes can be made. At least if the person gets life and they are innocent later on they didn't die for.

Do I think about the victims families, sure? First, they have to suffer from loosing someone, then they have to finally feel closure when the killer is found, then they have to go through a cycle of guilt once the killer is killed, then they have to feel extreme guilt after they found out the killer was not the killer and an innocent person was killed, then they have to go back through, well hell, who is the killer? Again, no closure. See how this works.

Hmm... you call that farting? Glad I live in America where I can enter a public conversation without checking with you first or being insulted.

And you assume I don't value life and am just "average". Average meaning majority so at least in this instance, I guess the majority is all wrong and you are right? Interesting way of thinking.

Sometimes life sucks and sometimes life hurts and sometimes people make mistakes but we all get over it and move on.

In your above statement about how it all works. I think you are wrong. Life happens and we must just live with it. But I for one (remember, I'm part of the majority) would rather make a mistake than leave potential killers running loose.

I wish that people like you would have conversations about how to fix the problem instead of just whining about the best solution so far and insulting those have have a different opinion. How does your whining make a difference?.

Let me ask you something. If you were put in the same situation as the man I mentioned earlier, would you be okay with that mistake? Think about it, you in Disney world with your family on vacation. Somebody you know is murder a few states above. They find out you know this person and come arrest you because they bribe someone to say you did it. You have tons of evidence to show you were in Florida at the time of the murder. And yet, they throw it all out because they value an eyewitness's lie to your orgy of evidence.

Ha

No one said you couldn't enter the public conversation. Please, please show me where I said that. Please quote directly from my posts......

I did not insult you. Show me where I did this?

We are all entitled to our own opinion. If you think making the mistake of killing an innocent person is worth it, then it is your business.

I don't believe devastating two families by killing the wrong person benefits anyone.

You are kind of off topic. It has been established this guy was tried by a jury and found guilty of the crime you so vividly and graphically describe.

He received the death penalty as punishment. It was his execution that did not go as the law prescribes. Read the copy posted in the initial post of this thread.

Yes, harpa darling, I do indeed know that. I am, however, in the middle of a second rewatch of the third season and in the middle of the third book. So forgive me if my comparisons are grrm-swayed.

Let me know when it happens. You'll know what I mean.

Shooting, hanging, stoning, guillotine are all suitable and effective. We need a bigger smorgasboard of options from which the victims family and voters who support the US Constitution can choose. For those who think it's not a deterrent, perhaps wild animals turned loose on convicts leaving the courtroom after conviction would help.

They did that in Rome. There were still murderers. Next.

Just punching in to see if the kill em all brigade was still at it. Glad I wasn't disappointed.

How does his death pay for the crime? Specifically. Like how exactly does it change anything about how she suffered? What would your lord and Christ do to the murderer?

compassion isn't something to be handed out only after you've judged a person. we should have compassion for the murderer, not because that excuses what he did or the horrible way his victim died, but because the only answer for violence is peace. violence begets violence. they use that term begets a ton in the bible, so..it has to be true.
