I think that the state should execute prisoners using a method that preserves their organs so they be harvested and sold, then give the money from the sales to the families of the victims to compensate for their pain,suffering and to open a trust fund for any children the victim has. The state keeps a small portion to help recoup some of their costs. It is a win for everyone. Someone's life is saved or improved with the organs, the state recoups some of their costs, and the victim's family is compensated for their loss!

A form of execution acceptable to hand-wringing pacifists would be to lock the inmate in a room and be forced to listen to liberal talking points 24-hours a day. Would that be classified as torture or common core education?

The pacifists only care about the convict, screw the victims and their families. Murder is cruel and unusual punishment also, sometimes for the victims and all the time for the victim's family.

Practicality is not always pretty. Are you saying the victim's families do not deserve a chance at retribution from the offender? You would rather see innocent children and adults die daily when this method would allow additional organs to be available to a program in which demand always exceeds supply. Would it be more palatible to you if they were executed by electrocution or hanging if they do not want to participate in the organ donation program and be allowed to be executed by lethal injection or other pain free methods if they volunteer for the program? This would allow them the option to actually show remorse to the victims family and perhaps actually be a benefit to society once in their life.

Sure, and while you're at it why not turn dead bodies into food for the masses. They don't need them anymore and it would take the pressure off the agricultural system. Why not extend the idea to the poor - after all jonathan swift proposed it a couple of hundred years ago.

Of course the really obvious flaw in your practicality argument is that the first thing on the list of benefits is emotional gratification for the victim's family. How is revenge a pragmatic concept? Simple answer - it's not.

So not only do you believe in dehumanising someone who has been executed (on two levels no less; firstly that a person's crimes justifies the state brutalising them, and secondly that their body should be stripped for parts), you also believe in dehumanising the victim's family by having the state pander to base emotions.

For the last 6 years the White House has used the Constitiution and the Bill of Rights as toilet paper and not a peep was heard from the left, now that a convicted murderer has an unpleasant death it becomes a matter of life and death for the left to uphold the Constitution? So what you are saying is that both sides use only the parts of the constitution that suit their agenda, and then ignore the parts that don't? Or are you just saying that the left does it?
