so here's my crazy story

I met my current wife back around Dec of 2009 and lived next to her family until April of 2010.(in Argentina) She came here on a B-2 visa and she came to the country around the end of January and I paid for her to come up here to see eachother again. I fell in love with her and asked her to marry me, we had full intentions for her to return to Peru (where she was studying down there and she already enrolled and paid for her classes to return and I bought her a return ticket originally) but she ended up staying up here after talking to lawyers and talking with her and praying about it with her. We decided to get married on April 4th, and were told by lawyers (back around when we decided for her to stay) to wait around 3-4 weeks till you start/submit your paperwork to get her a green card.

so I found this guide:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2

is this the right guide to follow? we both have never been married before and both are still young (mid/early 20's) we currently are living at my parents house till I can either find a decent place to rent for a short term (less than 6 months) or till I can take out a loan for a house (which I was told since I am married to her I cannot and I think she needs a EAD or SSN for that right?)

I have not done any legal things with her since she has entered the country, she is working on getting her WA state licence. she is getting all her medical records from home and a legal birth certificate from a consulate here in the US. I am in the process of getting a certified marriage licence for us and getting the rest of the paperwork we need to get this process going.

So am I doing this all right? Please let me know, thanks! I am a natural born US citizen.

That is the right guide.

Questions may come up regarding intent. i.e. Did she come here as a tourist with intent to stay and adjust status.

I don't see how "her" immigration status would effect "your" ability to buy a house.

She will need proof of legal status before she can get a DL. We needed the Biometrics appointment letter before my wife could get her's. Then it was valid for only one year.

As a 20 something living with parents, do you meet the financial requirements? 125% of poverty.

She came here to stay for 2 and a half weeks so we could see eachother again, with the possibility of a relationship or marriage for a future date if things worked out between us (after she was done with her studies down in Peru, there was no intent for her staying here in the US) and we had no idea how we would feel about eachother since it was 4 years ago that we saw eachother, things worked out way differently than we both expected.

I was told by two real estate agents that I couldnt even get an FHA loan since I am married to her now, that if I closed the house before we were married I could have bought one. I was trying to get a USDA loan.

I was told by a lawyer that in WA you only need proof of residency and no legal status in WA to get a DL here. (like a bill from a cellphone company with her name on it will work)

I currently am making $18 an hour full time ( I believe that's over $37K a year) I live at home because I was saving money for a house and I paid off all my debts (car loan)

She doesn't need to prove lack of intent in order to be approved for a green card.

That is the correct guide. Even though you live with your parents, they are not counted in your household size unless you claim them as dependents on your taxes. $37k is more than enough for a household of 2 on the I-864 affidavit of support.

For showing proof of marriage with the I-130, having shared accounts, especially financial, are quite helpful. Any proof of sharing the same the address? You could have your parents sign a statement attesting to the fact that you live together as a married couple in their home until you are able to purchase your own house together.
