I have received a checklist from the NVC office for my AOS that i sent in.

My father is my joint sponsor and his company has not yet payed taxes because they have an extension on there taxes. The NVC has asked us for a written letter on why my father have not filed taxes, does this letter need to be written as a personal letter or on the business letter head? and what all should we include in this letter? We also have proof of the extension date which we will send a copy of.

The NVC office has also asked us to send with the letter a IRS print out or a Letter 1722 issued by the IRS which my father can not get until he has payed taxes. What can we do?

A letter on business stationery explaining why he didn't file taxes this year and the reason for his extension. The letter should be signed by your father. In addition, he can prove his current income with sales receipts etc.

For the last 2 years, get an IRS transcript online.

For the self employed, current income comes from line 22 of the latest tax return. Sales receipts are "revenue" but they are NOT "income", in this context.

To the OP, the issue is not the "paying" of taxes. The issue is filing a tax return, that shows "income" from line 22. Delaying the tax filing this year, is the reason you're having this problem.
