Why not go farther? If ww1 didn't happen, the botched post ww1 policies wouldn't have been a problem. Why don't we try murder's parents or whoever lead them down a bad path instead of the actual murderer. Germany may not have had the best situation after ww1 but I'm pretty sure there were better ways than global war to resolve them. Same with ol shirtless McGhee.

All transgressions go back on Eve's shoulders. We'd all still be living in paradise if that beeyotch hadn't a listened to that snake.

Mission uncertain: Canadian planes leave for Eastern Europe to assist NATO

"There is a lot of uncertainty about what we're going to be doing over there," Lieutenant-General Yvan Blondin said at a press conference with Defense Minister Rob Nicholson in Bagotville, where the CF-18 Hornets are based.

Blondin mentioned that the troops were going to perhaps participate in routine training exercises – but he is still not sure what the mission will involve.

"We're not sure how long we're going to be staying, but we'll be staying until the government tells us it's time to come back," Blondin said.

"We are sending out a message to Russia and we are reassuring our allies that we are taking steps and making a point consistent with what NATO has been saying, the actions so far are unacceptable by Russia and we are sending out a very clear message," Defense Minister Rob Nicholson told CBC News.

It followed hot war rhetoric a week ago by US Secretary of State John Kerry.

"If Russia chooses the path of de-escalation, the international community – all of us – will welcome it. If Russia does not, the world will make sure that the cost for Russia will only grow. And as President Obama reiterated earlier today, we are ready to act," Kerry said.

On Monday, Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu called on his Pentagon counterpart Chuck Hagel to help cool the rhetoric over Ukraine.

“The Russian minister assessed the growth of the US and NATO forces’ activities in Eastern Europe as unprecedented. He also underlined the fact that those actions are accompanied by provocative statements by NATO’s Secretary General about the need to withhold Russia,” the statement from the Defense Ministry said.

Bagotville. I wonder if that is a typo.

I have personally witnessed a squadron of CF-18s taken out by a flock Canada Geese.

Hmmm. Six CF-18's is less than half a squadron, while 250 troops is just above the number for a company of troops. How is this going to impress the Russians ? The CF-18's are inferior to the mighty Russian Sukhois. If they dared launch a sneek attack, they will be met by the S-400 missile system which can blast any plane out of the sky. The Canadians know it, which is the reason why NATO countries are sending between 4-6 planes each, prefering to sacrifice less rather than more in case a short conflict. Overall impression is that NATO still does not know what to do, shocked that things have turned out as they did.

BillBo - Can you define "Russian aggression" for me. What is it exactly??? Having a referendum?? Where people get to vote on what they want and what country they should be part of? Remembering of course that Crimea WAS part of Russia for centuries! Only in the 50's did it get given (apparently illegally and not in accordance with USSR laws/rules) to Ukraine. The people of Crimea didn't seem too upset when they were dancing in the streets on their return to their Mother Russia! The only other thing Russia has done is hold military exercises on its own territory.
