Does it matter how many individual times you have seen each other in person or does one extended visit sound as good? Since we are so far apart and the flight is so expensive it is not like hopping on a flight to London for a weekend...I met K when I was vacationing in Kathmandu(the morning after I arrived it so happened) :D and from that day we spent every day together while I was there for nearly six weeks. I came back to NY in June and we won't be able to see each other until May. We have been emailing almost daily and chatting/phoning every weekend, plus we send each other CARE packages, gotta keep my boy supplied with good(not Indian or Nepali) chocolate, you know, key to his heart... ;) So does that one six-week visit count as much as weekends here and there?

In terms of the I-129F, no, it does not matter that you have only spent one visit together. Those six weeks are a lot longer than a lot of people who spent 6 visits, and many people actually only spend a week together before proposing! Due to the distance, your not having seen each other for 11 months probably will be completely understandable, IMO.

Thanks for your helpful reply - this site is amazing. I can't imagine how difficult this whole process must have been before the 'net and VJ came along!

I think Alex is right.

I did read a list of the questions that the consular asked a girl at her interview (in Brazil) on Tuesday. He asked how many times her fiance had visited her. She answered honestly: twice. He said ONLY TWICE??

But she got the visa.

I don't think it matters at all how many times you've seen her fiance, as long as you did.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
