We were approved for our k1 visa petition on 4/24/14 and Online it states petition will probably be sent to NVC next....but I get home yesterday and the NOA2 is in the mail...and it says that the petition will be sent to listed consulate...but no where on the form does it state which consulate....I know where it's suppose to go...I know it supposed to eventually end up in Dominican Republic...but the letter didn't say that....and no other instructions other than we are supposed to get married in 90 days and what would happen if we didn't. ...that's it....nothing else...I'm so confused. ..bc online it says NVC and the letter says contact your consulate for more information. ...what do I do??? Help me...!!!

Your approved I-129F petition will go to the National Visa Center (NVC) first, it will be assigned a case number, and then it will be shipped to the consulate you specified in your I-129F form.

All approved petitions go through the NVC first.

The letrer is general information, your petion is at nvc.

you need to wait by your case number.

When you status shows in transit, that mean that your case is sent to santo domingo.

After that, in one month you can e-mail them to see if they have asigned an interview date.

Ms.Montilla....so you say it skips the nvc and goes straight to the consulate? ? Bc the person below you say it's going to nvc...???....but you are in Dominican Republic like me....idk...:(

Ilovemyman...where do I see if it's in transit?? And how do I get my case # from nvc...I know there is a # to call....but how soon should I start calling? ?

My fiance called to nvc 14 bussines days after he got the noa2.

When you get the case number you go to ceac check visa status and type your case number and you can see if says at nvc or in transit.

All approved petitions go through the NVC, are assigned a case# and then sent to their appropriate consulate.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to K-1 Progress Reports - topic is case status ~
