Our NOA1 is dated March 5. The processing times show that the CA center which has my application is currently on March13. My questions is how accurate are the processing times dates, and how long after they pass my date should I expect an answer. Should I be worried?

Thanks

The processing times vary. The times shown on this forum are estimates (or guesstimates) based on input from members of the forum who have already went through this stage of the process. For instance, I submitted my I129F on Feb 14, and received no "Request for Evidences" (RFEs) ... and got my NOA2 on April 15 ... so that was about 60 days via the California Service Center. The processing time could be more or less ... but always check the USICS web site, which will usually state that it will take 5 months.

After 5 months, then you may call them and inquire about your petition ... if you call them anytime before that, you will be asked to wait the full 5 months.

I understand the processing times is based on VJ members data, and when look at timelines, I see that CSC is estimated to be on March 16. However, I see members who received NOA1 after I did and who already have their NOA2, all from CSC. I was under the impression that they are processed in order, so is this of any concern?

Thanks!

There could be different things that may affect the processing and background check from your petition. It could be that your case is not straight-forward. It could be that the officer handling your case is behind or not as fast as others. It could be anything - but the bottom line is that no matter which Service Center your petition is sent to, they will state the minimum time that must pass before they allow you to start calling in and inquiring. Based on your timeline - I would not worry - you are only 1 month in!!! :)

I've seen a couple of people get approved after 2-3 weeks - I've seen some that takes a few months - I've seen those that took over a year. It just depends, but for the CSC, always look forward to not receiving a response until 5 months (August) otherwise you will drive your self crazy. If you get it before then, think of it as a gift because there are people who submitted their petition in December and November and still waiting for NOA2! :)

I appreciate your insight into why the processing times could be different, I just wish that USCIS would have more information about the progress of a case when you check status. It is frustrating to watch others with NOA1s later than ours get their NOA2s and we just see crickets...

I am using an immigration attorney who specializes in K-1s and they assured me that everything looked good and they didn't foresee any problems... I think not knowing what is happening is the most difficult part of waiting...
