I'm afraid those dates are not correct. First of all, the latest date you see on VJ is not necessarily the date TSC is working on currently. TSC's official line is that they're working on apps from Dec 31st. This is obviously not the case in reality. But even from among the VJ filers, there are those from March and April - the latest I have seen is April 22nd -- who have been approved. So that Feb date for TSC is definitely not correct. Same goes for the other service centres you mentioned.

Have you spoken with any congressman/woman?? or a senator? They might help give you an update.

We were in a similar situation, not hearing anything and people were getting approved all around us. Found out a couple of weeks later we're stuck on pending security checks. 40 days of them so far!!

does anyone know if I put my fiance's name on DS-160 that he will be coming with me for the interview, does he have to be there in the interview? He would like to come with me for the interview but since we don't have the date, he is not sure if he will be able to take the days off.

If I put his name, in case he cannot make it, is it going to cause a problem?

I'm happy to report that the NVC entered our case into their system on Monday (August 25) and as of this morning (August 28), the case is on its way to the embassy in Malaysia. The lady on the phone did not know how it was sent or how long it will take to get there and be uploaded into their system. I wish I new if it went by hard copy via DHL, or if they do it electronically. So excited! It's moving along at a good pace now.

Yes, I filed a congressional inquiry on August 7. I talked to them yesterday and they said that they would follow-up with USCIS on September 7. I had also contacted another congressman earlier in the process but their office has now become unresponsive. A lot of help... NOT... Haha.

You guys can only use the timelines/predictions as a "general / average" guide.

I was a July filer and had my mind set that it would be Dec. 2014 or later before I heard anything....BUT.....

I have already been approved and done with interview. There have been several other filers in April, May, June, and July that have also been processed. So there is no guarantee that you will be processed quickly, but no guarantee you will have to follow the averages either.

and no, its not just philippine applicants. Several countries represented by the "out of the norm" processing dates.

That stinks, if you wanted to, you could keep trying with others? senators? We got lucky second time around with another senator who has been chasing our case up every couple of weeks.

All very frustrating, and I really hope security checks aren't the reason for your delay, but hopefully we're both approved soon!

Thanks for your kind wishes, unfortunately we're now beyond the general guidelines, on visajourney or USCIS. We sent our application 7 months ago and have heard nothing from USCIS, we're certainly not following the averages, but not in the way we'd like.

You are incredibly lucky, and probably in the 1-2% of applications that are approved within 1-2 months, but I hope you have a smooth journey beyond K-1.

The ONLY reason why you have had your application looked at at the pace it's been looked at is because your fiancee is from Philippines. This is entirely a geographical accident.

While people here do not always know why their applications take the time they take, most people DO know more about it than what you want them to infer from your case, I'm afraid your post [...] does nothing to allay anybody's concerns.
