Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where I can find information about changing the status on your SSN? I have previously held multiple work permits and was assigned a SSN, however, it clearly states "Valid for work only with DHS authorization".

Hopefully NVC has received out case now and we are trying to get all of our paperwork in order for the final interview, marriage, and AOS.

Thanks!

What do you mean exactly by changing the status of your SSN? I was under the impression you simply go to a local office once you get your EAD after filing for AOS and they provide you with a new card?

No word on my NOA2 yet... Hoping it's around the corner but don't have a lot of confidence in the system at the moment, haha. Anyone else from our group still waiting?

They do go by order, but with the volume of cases they receive, it's impossible to truly follow it. Case officers work at different speeds, or cases get held up by RFE's and security checks. TSC has to keep moving forward or they'll fall even further behind. Luck of the draw I suppose.

But TSC is approving March Filers this is so weird they don't by order?

Hi

I see that a lot of people that applied in February thru the texas center is still waiting.

We are not following the process so close as some of you guys but we are finally getting nervous and all our skype talks are getting really depressing so my questions is: is there a final date that our case should receive an answer supposing it is a normal case (I did live in usa before for 2 years as a J1 and I applied sucessefully for the 2 years waiver and i have a ssn but nothing i can think besides that).

Ok

Thanks a lot and good luck everybody

Fernando

Hi Fernando. You're applying for a K1? It would be helpful if you filled out your timeline so we can give better estimates. Even with that though, it's difficult to say. There's quite a large range at the moment. It seems to be between 180-220 days. Try and be patient, this is a long process.

Again, hard to say since who knows what's going on with your specific case, but you shouldn't have to wait too much longer! Best wishes.

I already have a SSN and on the actual document it states that it is only valid for work with DHS Authorization; my question was, will I just keep this SSN card in the meantime until a new one is issed once I have my PR.

guys, dont lose hope, i believe its coming, below is the current processing time for different center:

CSC: 7/9/2014 (yes, they are already working on July app.)

TSC: 2/25/2014 (still in Feb...)

VSC: 6/15/2014

Unfortunately we are with TSC, the longest among all three, but for Feb, the NOA2 should come anytime now :)
