Based on the information provided by USCIS, it is not clear which date they are processing. The dec 17 date was applicable to May 31st so more than 50 days have passed and USCIS is not able to let us know how much longer we need to wait.

I just called USCIS spoke to tier2 officer she stated that as of today they are working on December 17 cases, and that the processing time changed to 7 months. :(((

That is where problem starts. Dec 17 is not as of today's date. If we check the processing times at the uscis status web site, it says "last update May 31st, 2013". The tier II agent is just providing outdated information. That is outreageous!!!!

An Infopass appointment? I'm curious to see if that helps. My service office is an hours drive, so I'd have to take off work. Will you let us know if it's worthwhile?

Yes, an infopass appointment. Our home/county that he works in isn't too far from the Baltimore office so he thought it was worth a shot. I will keep everyone posted as to how it goes.

Our 5 month mark is on Sunday, July 27th. I see a ton of January filers are starting to get their NOA2 so I'm hoping that the new 5.5 month mark is a bit more accurate (maybe it will calm my nerves, but this is very unlikely!).

TSC thinks they're slick...

That "December 17th" date is there for a reason; besides TSC being legitimately behind on processing cases, services requests will only work if you mailed your case before December 17th. A bunch of January filers were able to confirm this because right around the time TSC updated their processing time a few of them were around the 6 month mark, which at the time was the required amount of time you needed to wait before submitting a service request. I hate having to type this but I thought you should know how service requests are currently working. :(

We're past the five month mark, but something is under development.

On August 6th, I'm moving to Portland, Oregon (new job, excited, yay!). I wonder if calling to let them know about this would give us any chance at all of our case being transferred to the CSC, Oregon being right next to Californa and all.

Well, truth is that I probably should let them know regardless, I'm just worried that it will backfire and then push our case back even further.

It's pretty amazing that this can take so long.

There is an option for e request online, where we check case status, did anyone try to use it? Since a live representatives dont take service request for those who reached 5 marks, I was told that we can do it online by ourselfs?
