Inviting parents overseas to come to USA to attend our wedding!

Dear friends,

I want to seek your help and advice in this matter.

We set our wedding date to be on 15 August 2014. My interview date will be mid June 2014.

We would like to invite my parents to come over for our wedding...

1- Is it better to wait until I land in USA and then send them invitation letters, or shall we send the invitation letters now, before I even land in USA?

2- What are the required papers if we want to invite my parents to our wedding in USA? Only invitation letters? Do we need to to ratify it from notary public?

3- Shall my parents apply for DS-160 before I land in USA or after? Does this affect my visa or application?

Assuming your parents are only visiting and do not intend to immigrate to the US, they will require a travel visa. Pretty sure that they will require a B-2 visa. This does not require you to provide anything, and it involves them needing to attend an interview at the embassy.

Your parents will apply for a B-2 visa and will be approved or denied on their own merits; you will have no part in the process.

Parents need B-2 visitor visas. They need to show strong ties to their home country to show their reasons for returning home. The US marginally cares why people want to visit the US. The US is concern with people remaining illegally and not going home after a "visit" to the US.

No. It's not a strong tie to the home country. A wedding invitation does not show that it's a reason to return home.

The reasons for coming to the US are not important.

The reasons to return home after a visit are important.
