K1 NVC Process Question: Finding Out Interview Dates?

Hi All:

The London Guides I follow for the K1 process say that you can no longer call the Department of State's special number to find out your interview date for your K1 at the embassy if you're too impatient to wait for your letter from said embassy. Initially, the guides suggested you can call DoS and they will tell you your interview date. Now, they updated to say that DoS can't deliver info on K1 Visas anymore. Can we call the NVC # to find out the interview date if we don't want to wait around for our letters (the guides for London say London specifically is notorious for not sending letters in time for interviews, so I'd rather call when we get to that point that wait....)

2/15/15 Notice of Interview Waiver (and Case Delay due to heavy processing load)

5/5/15 RFE (Requested another certified copy of marriage license)

5/14/15 Submitted Materials for RFE

5/28/15 Greencard Approved/In Production!!!!!
