During our own time of filing, we submitted a copy of the wedding certificate, translated and apostilled, entry stamps on our passport showing we visited each other, required forms like i-130 and G-325, plane tickets. We got our approval and We didn't even include any wedding pictures or call logs or phone records, or email print out, I think all that is required during the interview. I guess the marriage certificate is all that is important.

Hi .. At age 22 & 20 i would really suggest few simple things.

1) If you have found your soulmate and you can't live without him/her then Do not worry about any thing. Just enjoy your life and provide them what you can.

USCIS and NVC work at thier pace and they are not evil.. they just doing thier job...

2) Think of the worst scenerio. In my eyes it is "RFE- request for new evidence." ... """THATS IT """"... at this point why worry about it.

the reason i say this is the worst is if you ever get denied and you have a ligit marriage then you can always fight back.

3) If you are not a picture person than you will have to change. Keep taking pictures. PICTURE IS WORTH THOUSAND WORDS.. we have heard this so many times...

4) Immigration is one of the most life learning experince a person gets. be very Patient... DO not let any thing frustrate or bother you..

5) People always say they try to provide extra so they will not get RFE which is good if they have the extra documents and they don't want to waist time. If you get it good and if you don't get it then wait till they ask for it.

6) I have worked on 6 cases of my own and family members. and all of them either were illigal or missing many documents.

Most of the time our attorney asked us to get 2 affidavit from the boy side and 2 affidavit from girl side who are older than you who will sign stating you are married and they known you as married couple.

Hope some of this help...

Enjoy Life while you can... Don't let small things like USCIS and NVC bother you.. :)

Wow, that makes me feel a lot better :)

Unfortunately I still can't show commingling of wealth but I guess me paying for the plane tickets and my partner paying for the hotels should count for something, right? Hmm... maybe I can show that my partner pays for my health insurance by printing out his bank statements...

Yes, good idea. Any other joint insurances (auto, life, dental, vision) would be helpful, too, as well as Power of attorney.

As someone already said: Oz is a low fraud country. You'd need to mess up pretty badly to run into any kind of issues.

I am a USC. My husband is a beneficiary. Adjusted from E-3.

Yes the tickets receipts, your itineraries of visiting each other, your passport stamps, boarding passes, your hotel receipts, your statement for paying the insurance all are great proof of a bonafide relationship.

Check up the top of the page in the forum here. There are a great many examples of bona fide relationship evidence to submit. But as said earlier, what you have will be sufficient. Just organize all of your evidence so that all of it as a WHOLE paint a complete genuine picture of you relationship. Good luck!

i guess it depends on the consulate there..how strict or lenient they are.

for example, all i sent as proof was the marriage certificate and absolutely nothing else. i did go to the interview worth additional proof BUT wasnt asked for a single thing. so basically we were approved with a mere marriage cert.

but thats not always the case.

When I married my wife, couldn't even open a joint bank account for a hundred bucks due to this crazy APA, nor put her as a joint owner on one of my vehicles, no greencard, no driver's license.

Since we were both previously married, sure wanted to see our divorce papers, but showing a marriage certificate from a federal judge was not enough for them. We were never asked about our previous relationship. Of course, no joint tax returns, weren't married long enough for this.

One big deal was that I-864 I had to sign, had to prove I was making enough money to support my wife and her daughter, this was never brought up so far. Not sure about your financial condition, may need a co-signer.

Another issue we had was finding an approved USCIS doctor for that I-693 that wouldn't rob us to death, was not covered under our health insurance plan.

We never send in any cover letter nor photos, but my wife did bring along our wedding album and our IO was curious to see them but was optional, for us, one very important piece of paper was a court order showing that my wife had permission to bring her over here. We just sent in what they requested, no more, no less.

For this, my wife and stepdaughter received conditional green cards, now to remove those conditions, this is when they wanted a ton of evidence.
